Not sure I am one and the same, but might be. The Comply's provided excellent isolation but were a pain to insert multiple times per day. Did not enjoy the prep those tips required.

The Spiral Dot tips have done it for me. Ease of insertion plus ridiculous sq. And decent isolation. I couldn't ask for more. And for those interested, the A's are 1-2 steps above the UERM in terms of SQ, clarity, etc.

Hated the complys, both Spiral Dots and Spin-Fits have been working really well for me.

Anyone heard anything new on when these might finally be shipping?

Headphone bar's site shows 7/8 as ETA, so perhaps they expect to get the screws in this week and get the first batch shipped out by Friday?

Again, make sure output Z is not higher than two or three ohms when using Andromeda. The Andromeda can be f'ing bright from amps with an output Z of several ohms. Likewise, from an amp of less than one ohm Z out, the Andromeda will sound very strong in lower bass. Again, Andromeda is very amp sensitive, and even today, it's not very clear what the output Z is of most portable devices. There's been a lot of misinformation from randos and some slight fudging on manufacturer specs (A&K, cough cough cough).

But yes, from many typical portable sources, I've heard the Andromeda has having a bit more treble (and lower bass too) than even UERM (which happens to have the opposite effect with increasing output Z - more laid back / mid-centric sounding with higher output Z).

Would a buffer jack help for >3ohm sources? Or would it impact the sound also?

Depends on the output Z of the buffer.

Just received @Griffon's Andromedas (and Jupiters). Initial impressions of the Andromeda, using the Geek Out v2... very balanced sounding presentation. Punchy bass... the mids surprisingly sound very satisfying to me (coming from listening daily with modded 650's). I think the 650's have a weighty sounding midrange, that can come across as a bit thick/suffocating in stock form. I've grown accustomed to having this weighty presentation in the midrange- obviously the 650 mods fixed things up from being overly thick to what I find just right. The Andromeda's surprisingly carry the midrange through in a way that sounds very satisfying, without putting the overall presentation off kilter. I'm also very surprised the treble is so tame sounding... I would even say it sounds a bit rolled off with the Geek Out v2. I'm super surprised to not hear any obvious treble peaks or anything being obviously pushed. I own the HD-800's with the Anax mod and find the treble still kills my ears after a short while. I don't find the Andromedas to be assaulting my ears at all so far... very interesting.

I have yet to play around a lot with IEMs because I've never really been a big fan of the ones I've heard. This includes the Jupiters when @Griffon lent them previously a few months ago. I'm going to compare them to the Andromeda sound again this week and see if my impression has changed. I think my impressions at the time mirrored @Hands in that something just sounded off/wrong (paraphrasing). I think my issue with the Jupiters was a skewed presentation... as someone who loves the HD-650's, the Andromedas sound to me more satisfying than my impression then of the Jupiters. Enough so that at this point, I'd be interested in considering purchasing them... if only I could hear the Geek Outv2 in balanced mode feeding these. Overall detail retrieval and presentation really suffers in SE mode. Dammit.

Hate to turn it into a shipping update show, but mine just got shipped today, too. I think it's worth noting because I ordered on July 3rd. Will be interesting to see if I get the updated version.

    You mean here?

I don't see anything different from the Andromeda design we are already familiar with. Something I didn't notice?

The cable entry/connector is different now, it's tucked closer to the main body now, and appears a bit shorter.

I have a pre order pair and they look identical to the current pics on the website (connectors and all).

Maybe I'm going crazy, but I could have sworn the pics were updated. Whatever, mine are supposed to show up tomorrow (FedEx is holding them a few miles down the road, but won't left me pick them up early, scumbags).
