What's the consensus on CEntrance products? I haven't heard any.

I think the consensus back in Changstar was 'meh', especially considering the offers from LH Labs and Schiit.

Today I wouldn't give $0.01 to LH Labs after their latest fiascos, so this seems like a worthwhile alternative to the V2+.

    +1.
back in the Changstar days, there was no 4490 chip in the CEntrance products either so this "new breed" of DACportable and DacportHD haven't been received/reviewed as much.
For $250 the DACportable seems like good (non balanced) backup if your GOV2+ doesn't get repaired in a timely manner.

I enjoyed daily use of a HiFi-M8 about 2 years ago before selling it, and suspect @Tyll Hertsens still loves and uses his HiFi-M8 daily?
    ;)

I purchased the Dacport slim off of massdrop this past November and have had the headphone jack break twice since then. Centrance has been quick to respond and fix the slim at the cost of shipping, but slightly frustrating, especially when I do not believe I abused or mishandled the device

How did the headphone jack break? I just got the DACport HD for when I'm on the go, I'm wondering if there is anything I should look out for.

It seems if you apply enough pressure on the headphone jack while it's plugged into the Dacport , basically making it act like a lever, you can make the socket disconnect/break off from the board. So it's probably not best to leave headphones plugged into the device if you are bringing it around.

Wow, I've never heard of something like that happening. That's a shame, I guess I'll have to be careful with it.

I would say that one should handle all trs type headphone jacks with care. Common failure point, especially 1/8 in jacks.
