The regulation of cannabis products for recreational use falls under a completely different set of rules from that of medical use. The CBD oil you are talking about falls under the latter. I'm not sure what has been approved for sale here but I suspect nothing has changed since legalization in that regard. You would probably be best to ask your doctor about a prescription as that opens up an entirely different set of pathways for you to find what you are looking for.

Ex-smoker & current e-cig user here. To be clear, I don't really think a dedicated vaping thread is needed, necessarily. Just posting to share some of my experiences.

I can't help with CBD or cannabis, other than to say I'm not sure how effective vaping is as a delivery method for CBD. Just please don't call anything you vape "CBD oil." Vaping actual oil (lipids) will make you very sick (lipoid pneumonia) and possibly kill you. So you should draw a big, bright line between "oil" and anything you put into your lungs.

I used to smoke up to a pack a day through college & law school. I credit vaping (and my wife) with saving my life. I switched completely to vaping in August 2014 and haven't looked back. I've been smoke-free for 4.5 years. I get winded far less easily, my sense of smell has improved dramatically, and cigarettes now smell like burning garbage.

At this point I vape daily but only occasionally throughout the day, mostly when driving. (It's a "squonker" all-in-one device so using it in the car takes about as much concentration as raising a soda/coffee to your mouth.) I use liquid with 1.5mg nicotine per mL, which is a lower level than you can generally buy commercially.

I mix my own e-cig liquid at home, in conditions that are satisfactorily sanitary to me, with ingredients that I understand and am comfortable with. I've been doing that for about 3 years now. I wouldn't recommend DIY mixing to anyone who isn't driven to seek that knowledge themselves. You need at least a basic level of knowledge and experience in order to assume the responsibility for not poisoning yourself or others. Vaping or drinking an undiluted high-concentration nicotine solution will kill you. Vaping grocery-store vanilla extract will kill you. Vaping a lipid (oil) will kill you. So you have to do your homework.

I've looked into the developing science on the health aspects of vaping quite a bit, so I have some thoughts on that front. I've condensed them here because most people probably either don't care, or have done their own research and made up their own minds. But click through if you're interested.
I probably will stop vaping completely someday, but it's not an active priority. I'm not too worried about my current intake as a matter of relative or absolute risks. And I have naturally and gradually decreased my usage over the past 4.5 years without having to work hard to do it. But DIY-ing liquid and coils can be time-consuming, so at some point I may stop just out of convenience alone.

The only person you're fooling is yourself (maybe other vapers), if you think vaping is "smoke free".

You provide a mountain of self justification, but that's all it is.

    GODSPEED !!!

The medical dispensaries in Canada sell CBD and blends, and as @Kernel Kurtz says it's very well regulated and easy to get prescribed if you have a condition that it might benefit. Only problem at the moment is that supply is hit & miss. No need to vape, they supply little syringes along with the bottles and you just squirt the dose down your throat as @Hands alludes to above. Not me who's doing it (I hasten to add for the benefit of any watching country-access-control robots) but it seems to help the back-pain patient with sleep.
