DIY help: replace pot on EC ZDS

I would love to buy the ZDS in the FS forums here but a stepped attenuator doesn’t work for me because I’ll be using very sensitive planar magnetic iems with it so I’ll only have a few steps to work with.

Is anyone willing and experienced who would swap the stepped attenuator for a nice TKD or ALPS Black Beauty in exchange for getting to borrow the ZDS for a while?

I think it’s a very easy switch to make.

I’ll cover all shipping and even provide pre paid UPS shipping labels so all you have to do is drop it off at UPS.

Even with a high quality pot, isn’t a ZDS designed for high ohm dynamics? Seems like a total mismatch for sensitive planar IEMs unless I’m missing something.

 

Yeah you would think so, but the best I've heard them is on a prototype OTL el84 amp so they are kind of mysterious iems in terms of amping them. I definitely am not expecting my Audeze's to work well with the ZDS.
