Everyone helping me out gets epic ratings on their posts. At least you get something out of it even if it’s stupid. :)

The devices chosen in the two systems are different. Headphones has "HiFiBerry Digi+ Pro" while speakers has "HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro." I don't think "HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro" is right, it refers to a board with a built-in DAC.

Thank you I noticed that as soon as I posted the pictures and fixed it and updated the pictures. You caught that fast! Didn’t change anything though. I still have more options in the settings for speakers Pi2AES. (See updates pictures above)

those settings shouldn’t affect it being detected by bubbleupnp though. I’ve left that part blank accidentally in the past and the Pi2AES was detected t bubbleupnp it just wouldn’t play to it.

I can’t find any force re scan for devices. What I’ve always done is quit bubbleupnp and restart the phone. That always works.

I’m hesitant to erase bubbleupnp because I don’t know Android that well and that’s a whole other world of pain. The Google play store doesn’t work on my Samsung s10e for whatever reason so I had to download it from the online store. And I can’t remember what settings I have now. It would probably stop working for a new reason.

That means stopping the music to my headphones which I am physically incapable of at this moment.

Your headphones setup is probably using an older version of moode hence the slightly different screens. It’s possible that there’s a problem with the newer version but I don’t use ethernet with my setup so can’t check personally. This is why I suggested duping the headphones card and renaming it… I’m not sure there’s a way to download older versions of moode. If that’s the case it’s probably something in the underlying linux layer, sometimes it’s better to stick to known good versions unless there’s a really compelling reason to update.

As for your situation, if the wifi setup (or having the speakers one be wifi) is working with both I’d be tempted to suggest sticking with that for now. I only run wifi and it has no problem keeping up with streaming even hi-res files.

i actually don’t know how to duplicate an SD card. Especially with only one usb hub so I can’t plug them both in at the same time. And the way they are “flashed” puts me out of my knowledge base. I don’t know if copying it to my hard drive then copying that to the speakers Pi2AES would actually work. :-/

You make an image to your computer that you then flash onto the new card:

I’m not going to be going into terminal unfortunately. :(

this seems to be what happens when using cutting edge technology. At some point this will be much easier.

edit: Did some googling and found an app called "apple pi baker" that's supposed to be able to do a backup. Trying now...

    thank you!

Your idea worked!! I used the app mentioned above. Flashing took about 3 times as long for some reason but bubbleupnp sees it now. I’ve renamed it and all is back to normal.

so all of this madness must have been caused by my stupid remote on off switch being backwards so I thought there was a problem and thought I had to re flash the card and then when I did the current version of moode must be buggy. Beware of the current version of Moode!

    thank you everyone

I have the previous version of moode on my computer as an .IMG file. If anyone needs it because the current version is buggy just send me a pm I’ll email it to you.

    PI2AES Production Update - 07/07/21

The 100 unit build is nearing completion. Surface mount assembly is complete and through hole is next. That's the good news. The bad(ish) news is that the 40-Pin GPIO Headers have still not arrived. The vendor has assured us they will go out this week, but lets face it, nothing is working quite right these days! But, as soon as they arrive we can start shipping within a day or two. We will update here as soon as they arrive.

Many thanks for your continued patience from the Pi 2 Design team, and stay safe!

Just built display version and it gets warm but nothing else happens.
Looks like I have the screen plugged in correctly.
Did anyone else have this issue and did fully dissassembling + re-assembling help?

I had that issue and it was because I put the ground cable for the display on power instead of ground. I didn’t realize there’s two power pins and then ground. Fortunately nothing was damaged.

Also be sure you’ve set your player software to output to the screen from a web browser, I think a lot of them default to no screen output.

Hmmm, I don't get any LEDs firing up and now I notice that I may have a board that did not get the pins cut.
I'll disassemble and cut pins. Hopefully it will fire up!

Ew, dang, I hope that fixes it. I would definitely get it running without a screen first to simplify diagnostics since things can go wrong at every stage (Pi vs Pi + Pi2AES vs all three).

Also since we're local to each other I'd be happy to try something in person (I'm fully vaxxed!), possibly swapping parts with mine to see which is the issue for you.

very sorry about that. I do it prior to test so usually if I forget, the test fails. :(

^Thanks so much to both of you...I re-assembled and the screen/Voumio are now working! :headbang:
All is well so far with screen and network connection, though I do need to play music through it later when I have time.

EDIT: All set-up and now using with an attached USB drive via wireless. Enjoying Ben Charest - The Triplets of Belleville

The 40-Pin GPIO Headers have still not arrived. The vendor shipped them via DHL and they were due here last Friday. When they did not show Monday we contacted DHL and they assured us they would be here Tuesday. They are still not here and DHL online status is unclear when they will arrive. As soon as they arrive we can start shipping within a day or two. We will update here as soon as we have them. In the mean time if anyone wishes to can cancel their order for a full refund.

Many thanks for your continued patience from the Pi 2 Design team, and stay safe!
