I'm in the same boat as you, but I bit the bullet on the Stardust instead. What's some other earbuds that you've tried? Still find IEM fit to get fatiguing after a while so it's nice to have some good earbuds on hand which I find to be the most comfortable for long-term listening.

    Full Yuin line, VE monk+.

To be fair to the RX-1, I find that the RE-00 has set my expectations of low priced gear for me.

RE-00 that great? I remember having the Re-Zeros way way back and finding them to be well done but nothing amazing. Then again, the price/perf discussion would be different if they were $35 new....

Never heard authentic Yuins, but it seems like they've been outdone by more recent offerings. Any comments there? I revisited a pair of knockoff Yuin PK2s I bought years back recently. They sounded pretty good from memory, but now are just super veiled with a FQ curve akin to a wet spaghetti noodle. Andromedas have spoiled me....

I have the RE 0 (old one) and i was using it prior to the RX1. I think RX1 is technically and tonally quite a bit better than the re0. Heck i even think it has lesser issues than the HE400/i/s .

Biggest grouse against the RX-1 is the fit (for me). SQ overall is fine except bass extension. For this reason, I am not going to pursue buying any more earbuds. Heck, with the Andro and ZX2, I am set for portable listening.

I picked up the VE Candies as my first set of earbuds in the second run. I haven't been too critical with its sound signature, but it's all gravy other than a lack of bass extension and come minor comfort issues (not used to earbuds in my ear)

Just got my Shozy Stardusts in the post. Right out of the box, they sound fantastic! Nice neutral signature with good extension both ways. I never thought you could get good sub-bass from an earbud...

They certainly give my PMx2s a run for the money... at one tenth the price!

Running them single-ended out of a Pono Player and a Schiit Fulla with stock foams.

Not all earbuds, my black zen ($358_Cardas Cable) is in transit .. once i get those.. i will create my list with critical listening..
So i don't want to make any list right now, cause once the list is created, it can't be changed... Better late and precise than to be quick and vague..

Ahh, you must be in politics :) Well, thanks for starting the thread. I modded my EarPods thanks to Tyll's comment about them, and that started me down the road. I am tired of the hassle of headphones and the discomfort of IEMs. Now that I have the Stardusts, I think I won't go back.

I am glad. I was never into IEMs in my life.. i feel suffocation when i wear IEM. Once i bought the Chord mojo i was dying for TOTL earbuds... Even though i have HD650, i use Earbuds 90% of time.. So i may skip of buying Focal Elear and will spend money on Highend earbuds ..

By the Stardust is awesome, the tonality is nice. You will enjoy more the mid centric music on Stardust .. what's your opinion on stardust ?

I'm going between them and my Audio Zenith PMx2s, which IMHO are as good as it gets for a planar magnetic, and I would be hard pressed to find ANY flaws in the Stardusts. I wouldn't call them mid-centric, I'd call them flat.

True, FLAT will be the correct term...but the Stardust sound is engaging :) I got a new earbud .. i.e. K500... In burning process (500 Ohms).. But i am curious about Black Zen.. i spent $358.. so it's hurting me :(
I spent only $200 on Massdrop HD6XX.. Lol...

By the way please share your audio gears.. i may get some inspiration from your set up...!!
