my issue tends to be that I listen very low volume levels, so midrange recession is usually very obvious. I do want bass, but not overwhelming amounts, nor do I care to get super amounts of sub bass.
does the stardust (BK?) have less treble than the Cygnus?

    regarding 2), good point.
do you find the Stardust (do you have it? sorry I don't remember who wrote what in the thread atm) comfortable/light weight enough?

    thank you!
I don't really mind going in a little deep, if I can get something similar to what I want to be honest.

I hear stardust is a bit more extended for treble. Might be same level just mroe refined.

The housing for Shozy are among the more comfortable. they're pretty small.

@munch Cygnus is the most comfortable bud for me. Its very light, shell has thin stem and the driver housing too is quite thin around the circumference.
I'd say start with the cheap $20 RX1. If you can live with it, Cygnus is a worthy upgrade.

extended or brighter? extended treble isn't a bad thing, but if it's peaky... not sure!

I don't think I'd want something lower-fi just because I'm new to earbuds and I have tried the monk - it's good but not great. it does sound like $10.
I know what I would like and was hoping to find something that is good with good tonal balance. an earbud journey is the last thing I would want :p
I just was hoping there might be something that is flat or darker sounding with a good midrange available.

Then go for Zen 2 or Shozy Stardust .. both are $150 ... But the Zen 2 is 320 ohms so not good from your phone.. Go for Stardust and you are done ..!! yes it's flat but nice !

As a guy who actually wrote one of those reviews, I don't think they're bad at all. It's a niche use product.

Seems to be brighter, though you should look at getting Armaegis' Celsus. It's tone could fit your needs and it'll be cheaper than the stardust. I'd get it if i wasn't broke af right now.

    They have 3 earbuds :

    1. Qfred : $200
    2. Campfred : $150
    3. CAX : $280

    All excluding shipping.
I will buy the CAX next month most probably :)

I asked the same thing to him. But he said he can't get the drivers for Golden Ref.. so he can't make anymore.. but CAX is pretty close.
