    Mister R and I are busy enjoying the holiday season of being over worked, spending spare time with family and friends and not fretting about amp to amp shoot outs until mid January in hope the snow/ice thaws and we can hug outdoors without wearing down parkas or layers of windproof fleece while drinking high ABV belgian beers or refilling shot glasses of expensive french liquors while we tell secret stories about Marv and Ravi underneath a full moon.

    Dropped in the EVO SGO's this morning. Early listening has the usually 'issues' with caps that need to cook; bass is a bit loose, a bit harsh in the treble area, slight phase issues. But, an improvement. I expect it to be slightly more so with ~100+ hrs on the caps. Is it worth ~$400? To me yea - I'm an idiot. If I like a circuit sonically (speed dynamics, etc.) I enjoy the squeeze, even for a small bit of juice. The regulator was a bigger improvement, and I wouldn't at all be surprised if Doug's correct that the CCS daughter board provides the biggest improvement.

    But even without it, as it sits with Reg / Caps - it's technically pushing (in a few ways exceeding) my Uber7. U7 does have a distinct character; a body and weight to the notes that excels - but otherwise, they're both right there.

    I hope you have a daughter board for me too Doug; happy to help with early testing / tuning.

    I do what to stress that with stock caps, this amp is still a summit-fi performer. You don't need to drop big bucks on caps for it to hit that level.

    Heh. I don't say that lightly Hands - but don't take it to mean I'll let go of the U7.

    I'm excited for peeps to have access to such performance at this price point. With reg and caps, it's around ~$1100; that's one hell of a value for this performance.

    I think the Torpedo III power transformers were allergic to people with "Dr" in their handles. I've been listening to mine for a few hours daily since I got the PT swapped out and it's been dead silent ever since.
