    Great post Pure.
what about me at the other 4 tables from the community did you see that too? Did you see me help others and fill roles that have been delighted to me? You lack information.
I will not negotiate with your quarrels.
You threatened me twice publicly. Should I concede to you?

I told you to feel free to post your opinion.
I have no issues with your concern.

    It’s odd.

@k4rstar your written review is worth more than you think. I think people need to post openly about things they didnt like, it offers a good piece of information to people looking to buy a new piece of gear and eventually pushes companies to grow. No company can complain that they didnt succeed or that they died because of negative impressions. Sales will go forward if the product has enough good going for it and negative feedback is improvement for the next product/iteration. Having said that, there's a line between shit talking and intentionally trying to bring a growing company down (or the reverse, writing only positive stuff because you're invested in it somehow) versus writing your impressions.

In short I'd say if you cant keep your emotions out of it, you probably need to stay out.

hi guys Idiot living in the 4th dimension here.

the loaners have always been a dumpster fire with people not even interested in purchasing, just like tyre kickers when buying a car for example it just makes the process of listening to something you're very interested a pain in the ass. with how cheap eta is for what you get soundwise is unreal. i personally spend more time with the headphone on my head than caring about how it may look to all those who are super duper build quality dependant people and want a wall of shitphones to spend more time looking at than wearing.

purrin if you say its about bashing products and drinking, then why bother join a loaner and make those who are actual buyers have to spend months and months waiting to hear, and when it arrives for it to be broken, damaged or tinkered after a long chain of people. downvote my shit i dont care, but you're all just impatient, poor and chasing the final percentage of hifi. unless its well over 1k i dont see a point in a loaner ever!

sad to see a new release start in such a shit show, post should really be culled and reposted, glad to see eta step away from loaners as 99% of you dont deserve it.

Are you attempting to actively escalate the situation, or are you simply unaware of how your rhetoric reads?

@k4rstar's written review, the serious one, was excellent.

The loaners do take a while to get around. It is what it is. The loaners here never been about getting a sample out to prospective buyers. It was about getting varied opinions from trusted people. Small tidbits of data, to help people with pre-purchase decisions. I'd say the purpose of the loaners is just as much the inverse too. For people to understand that they weren't for them, leading them to drop from the loaner list, or not seriously consider the product. Data is data, whether measurements, or many known people's opinions.

It's also about being surprised about gear along with the drinking, not just the bashing. With the prior two in-person events, I was glad I finally got to hear the Abbas and a modded MHDT DAC. The "bashing" part, I think you misunderstand: Some people loved the Abbas, I certainly liked what it brought to the table. A few others were disgusted and walked away making a few of us laugh so hard (not in a mean spirited way). It's hard to explain, but things aren't so HEAVY like they are here when stuff is done in person. We try to bring that in-person vibe here. In person meets and personal relationships are a big part of SBAF. It was awesome to meet guys like @Gazny and have lengthy discussions with @tommytakis on audio stuff in general.

ETA loaners for Mini C and Mini S have been successful. Their first few models on limited loaner is what got them started, help put ETA on the map, because otherwise Jude at HF ain't gonna allow for that unless ETA pays him tribute.

With respect to the shitshow, why don't you write a formal review of the O2 to improve the quality of the thread? You've already dropped tidbits. I don't know what ETA policy for loaners is currently, but it's been a net benefit for them.

FWIW, @ChaChaRealSmooth is making an SBAF loaner happen. If anything I'd argue that if SBAF got on this sooner (we just couldn't with real life events and me being on business in the UK) with me writing a formal review and setting the tone, this shitshow would not have happened. I know it wouldn't have happened.

You do realize probably 95% of people here, including the high rollers and longtimers, have sub $500 headphones that are being used on a daily basis. I have a ETA next to Grados and Sennheisers. The ETA retains its own place on the headphone hanger on the right of the desk.

You don't have to be this way. Take a step back, a breath, and see how we can make this thread better. I'm a big fan of ETA and want to see them succeed. We are not enemies; well unless you want ETA to fail.

    --

P.S. Not aimed against anyone. Why do I feel Discord energy in this thread? The weird toxic kind?

i have not heard my O2, its currently in NZ, then heading to tasmania then to me. where im sure it'll atleast touch base with 4+ people other than myself, i was waiting to hear all of what i was interest in from eta before writing any sort of review etc. also great someone is putting their hand up to do one, just hopefully eta isnt shelling out a free loaner again.

ETA MC, MS, MO & O2 owner, all 32ohm

I would argue that the O2 was never launched here, or at least not properly launched.

I do not appreciate what I presume to be your fanboys sidestepping the real reasons why this turned into a train wreck by blaming “loaner programs” of which there isn’t even one yet, or “impatient” audiophiles who have $1000+ headphones or expensive upstream components, or prefer to not have gear that looks DIY.

This wreck is purely and solely on ETA because there are more than a few people with real experience, real success, who ETA could have used as resources to help ETA coordinate a proper launch on SBAF. I’ve already given @tommytakis some very specific advise on what not to do (because I knew exactly what would happen on SBAF), but it was not followed for some reason. Hey, I tried. don’t blame SBAF for this one.

It’s about being pro. Learn what the pros do.

Came home to this after a wonderful hangout with @famish99 and @Erroneous listening to vinyl and some dank machete tacos.

My reaction waking up to all this:

First off, let me apologize on behalf of ETA, for the lack of quality shown in terms of the overall thread and how we reacted to criticism. We are young and dumb, still learning how to be a proper business. Thank you everyone in the community for calling us out when warranted, it's how we'll grow and become a better company that SBAF can respect and be proud of.

Thank you @purr1n @zerodeefex and @ChaChaRealSmooth for all your advice and support, we'll do our best to become a company that you can proudly support.

In regards to some of the questions brought up on this thread:
    - @pure5152 your comments for concerns were justified, thank you for your support and criticism. Let me provide some insights on it, hopefully, this will answer:

ETA (Ev, Tommy, Alex) for the longest time, has really been (ET_). Alex has been dealing with his personal matters and has not been active as part of ETA for more than a year now. We will always have a place for him whenever he decides to come back, but we decided to continue as is with what we have.

It's an understatement that running a business is difficult. Ev and I do what we can between the two of us and we try to wear many hats, but sometimes we get outside help from kind individuals like @SCARED @Gazny @Lyander and many others in the community. I gave these people the title "ETA Consultant" to give recognition for the help they've given us. This is why we emphasize that we are a community-driven company as we could not be where we are today without everyone here.

Regardless, Gaz should have put the disclaimer at the bottom of his post. Case closed

    - Loaner tours do matter. I won't elaborate on that since there are already great responses to it. O2 loaner tour will start soon :)

    - ETA products were aimed to be used whether you want to just plug it on a portable source and/or a full-size setup, not to alienate or criticize one group over another in the recent debate. Like I mentioned in my previous post, I run my ETA on Fulla E most days for convenience, but also run it on my Eddie current tube amps as well. This is the official ETA stance.

    - Ev should not have reacted like that to criticism and I would like to apologize on his behalf. It's been a stressful week for Ev (and me) to see a thread about the product we worked hard on turn into the mess we are in right now. We welcome criticisms, but it would be a lie if we said that it didn't sting. We are human after all.

Please feel free to reach out to me if there are other questions or concerns regarding ETA. We are here to learn and hopefully provide many great-sounding headphones for many years to come \/
