Felt/foam mods for wave-guiding

    Has anyone experimented with "contouring" that central donut hole in various mods of that element...

    This, eg., has been posted for the AKG felt mod:

    I presently use only a DIY single-layer 2mm-thick felt donut, replacing the orig. stock foam unit -- that's a worthwhile mod!

    What I had in mind was something more like what certain loudspeakers' HF drivers use (bottom: Signet 260 from the 1980s)...
