Focal Eleax

Looks like Focal has gone Massdrop style.

Might we get an "affordable," headphone that does it all alright? Probably not, but maybe so. Only one way to know - listen with it.

So I make this thread now hoping to hear some impressions after it ships. I'm not sure when that is, and let's not jump the gun on speculating about the sound.

What we know so far is that it's 800 USD, damping has been modified, it's based on the clear, has more mid/upper treble than the Elear, has less bass than Elear but still "+3dB," and it isn't as resolving as the Utopia, but has a wider stage than [the Utopia]. It also has a cool black colour scheme, and the same cables as clear except with matching dark colours.

Sounds good so far (and I haven' heard it).

Wish they'd send these things to someone who isn't Currawong.
