Has anyone else gotten into custom theming with their Foobar2000 setup?

I recently started messing around with marc2003's JScript Panel for creating custom themes which takes things to a whole new level of customization. It replaces the former WSH Panel mod.

You can download the JScript Panel in the F2k default directory and he also has a bunch of sample scripts on GitHub https://github.com/19379

The nice thing is that you can now customize F2k panel by panel using Columns UI component.

Has anyone created anything cool they want to share? My JavaScript coding is only so-so but I'm getting better.

*Obligatory Disclaimer - always be careful installing scripts on your computer*

Hot dang, that looks posh. I've been rocking this look for a few years now (okay, I do change out the colours sometimes ), but since I spend little time actually looking at foobar, either because I'm just playing background music or closing my eyes and going as deep-dive immersion as I can on mid-fi, I never got around to really tweaking its look.

That DeviantArt link, though... right, I'm changing out!

EDIT: think last image was screwy.

Anyone else having problems with the Dynamic Range Meter Plugin lately?

It still does write the "foo_dr.txt" file in the folder, but not the DR value in the ID3 tag anymore...

I made some cosmetic tweaks to Gerhard's (Tedgo) Darkone V4 if anyone is interested. This is actually the second Darkone tweak that I've done. The first one was posted on another forum, years ago. And yes, Gerhard told me he doesn't mind people posting Darkone mods, as long as they retain the name Darkone. (Although, I don't like calling it a MOD because it's not altered enough to justify calling it that...so I'll call it a tweak).

It uses JS Playlist by Br3tt, which was first posted on Deviantart, and now comes "standard" with JScript panel. I also brightened up the display and changed the fonts. Plus, I added the ability to change the colours of each portion of the display.

Anyway, if anyone thinks I should post it, let me know.

I'll post the files either Thurs or Fri. Until then, here's a YT video showing a few more functions...

New to me. I used to use Aqualung. Back then, it was hard to find a Linux player that did not pause at track boundaries! Now I use deadbeef.

I gave up Aqualung because I had trouble with the included resampler.

Years before that, when I started listening to music on PC, it was quite important that video did not interfere. The last thing one wanted was a media player that has lots of visual content. Now it doesn't matter (well, less) but I kept the taste for media players that are simple in presentation and functionality. Foobar was one of the few things I missed from the Windows world.

I quite like i because of its streaming services support, it's one of very few ways to enjoy Tidal and Qobuz bit-perfect on Linux

Foobar? Linux? Really? I hadn't looked for years!

Anyway. although I maintain that I want a player, and not a media-management centre, I do have all my faves set up as tabs in Deadbeef.

No, Strawberry. I haven't used foobar in years but maybe it does that as well.

I came very close to switching to Linux but I decided to try Windows LTSC and never looked back. I'll admit that the activation key I purchased is probably grey market but 3 years later it's still working. :)

Anyway, here's the link to the Darkone files.

    Password: darkone

If it asks you to sign up, just click the X and then you can download.

You can use it right away in portable mode, but first you have to drag the included fonts into your fonts folder, plus there is one font you have to download.

    Instructions are included.

I've only tested this on a 24 and 32 inch monitor. (1920x1080 & 2560x1440). If a 4K monitor doesn't format properly with Darkone, it also won't work with this tweak.

Oh, right. It looks very smart! I'll install it and take a look, although I'm not looking to change.

Since I got more seriously into photography, I sometimes think about (all the money I could be spending on) the various image-processing softwares. But have been clean (MS-free) for a decade now, and don't even feel twinges any longer. :)
