I got these for 4500 yen off Amazon JP, based off measurements of their predecessor the T7 (they seem pretty much identical). For what it's worth, I really like them and think they're a really good el cheapo option. Great tonal balance with a slight midbass bloat to my ears. If only they were circumaural though!

The measurements that piqued my interest:

Wonder if anyone else has tried these, and if so, what do you think about them?

From the translation of the text of the measurement/review referenced:

T50RP is slightly boiled fish paste, T-7M is fairly flat. Lower area is a lot of T-7M for some. T50RP is a thin quality, such as cloudy and shut down T-7M for quality. Lower center of gravity is T-7M. MIDs T-7M is bright and low area of undisturbed clearly hear hear. Mid and high range of T-7M goes solid. High range is a lot of T-7M is somewhat. Stand out in the bright and sharp quality. T-7M is slightly on the resolution. Detail of every single sound not much different, but slightly winning T-7M is sound isolation. Sound field is T50RP, T-7M is clear. I feel T50RP is near the play a sound. The sound fidelity was slightly above T-7M. Winning habit on the frequency characteristics of. Original and life like, feel for T-7M. Edge T-7M is somewhat tight easy listening fatigue. High range or vocal support line or T-7M is somewhat painful. T-7M is on of the clarity and sound. Thickness is slightly more T-7M. T50RP who will feel warm. Subtle whiff of vocals. Big qualitative difference other than a whiff. T50RP is dark smoky, T-7M light rubbing and spits out the noise. T-7M is bright, well and good. T50RP is not sharp like it flows smoothly. Sound is basically T50RP is rich, but highly areas rich of T-7M. T-7M more prominent drums and pop. Impression of T50RP who lacks animation. Stringed instrument T50RP more smooth and comfortable, T-7M is live instruments are feminine. Brass and vivid metallic is T-7M. Representation of the sound of driving T-7M is good. Winning sound texture compatibility or broken. If you use the breadth of sound and listening fatigue, focus on is T-7M T50RP, high fidelity and brightness sensitive.

Hmmm... never realized the T50RP sounded slightly boiled fish paste.

I had the Fostex TH7-B and i think they are very good for their price point.... In fact they were awarded the "golden diapason" of the french musical review DIAPASON in 2013...Their rendering of the instrumental timbre are better and more natural for my ears than that of the HE 400 , properly amped, and with the sorbothane mod....i prefer them to my ath m50, and even if they are very different than the akg 701 (they are semi closed ) i prefer them because of their very natural rendrering of the instrumental timbre...They are not better in absolute term for sure, ( i listen more of the time with my he 400 ) but they had their own merit and i love them dearly, for their price around 70 dollars they are the best or one of the best headphone i think...Some people more knowledgeable than me may confirm my experience i think....best regards :)
