The new amp is close enough that I feel comfortable listing this now. Everyone here should know Craig's work so I won't wax philosophical here. I will just note that it took amps 3-4x the price to beat it and if I had the room I would go through hoops to keep it.

EC Studio B w/ all stock tubes unused and original boxes: $2900

    SOLD!!!

    Elrog 300b-Mo
Fancy Pants Mo versions, used ~1k hours.
Asked $2000, sold to SBAFer for $1850

Because the new amp will be here really soon and i dont want a high end amp just sitting boxed up in my closet, i lowered the price a bit.

Last push here before throwing it to the wolves in the more public listings.

I really want it to go to a spit where people will appreciate it and know what Craig is about.

For anyone even slightly interested toss me a price.

Mate - I want both (amp and tubes); timing just isn't right. To anyone else considering, this is one hell of an amp.

Just seems to me that money is a scarcer thing than usual nowadays and so not many might be able to justify the expense on even an amazing amp like this.

From getting ears on a Studio Jr 300B a while ago I already know that this likely isn't going to be up my alley from a presentation perspective (presuming both being "Studio" moniker amps was done with good reason) but the technical performance on tap actually had me giggling in disbelief-- Ah, there was the ceiling on the HD600s visible at last. An SBAF+SDR modded HD800 was present then too and that was ridiculously textured and nuanced, but yeah I can't seem to get along with the HD800 much at all; didn't stop my gobs from being smacked by the amp still.

Best of luck finding a good new home for it!

100%. And i am not wondering why people are not jumping on this, i just rather it go to the right place. We can only wonder why people are a bit more conservative with cash right now. (Though i think we all know why)

I'm biased, but Studio B is probably my favorite audio purchase ever, all things said. Someone should buy it!

I tend to agree and its been my longest held piece of gear. The sale is because i have my next piece coming and it cost nearly 5x the EC, yet i am hoping once it is in it lives up to sone of Craigs standards, such as how the hell Craig gets amps so damn silent!

I do hope i can one day have an Eddie piece back in the roster. Maybe a mythical T, Afc, or even one of his phonos.

I would have bought this if it had XLR preamp out like AF.GLWS.

Elrogs sold and removed from listing.

Studio B now open to all as it is listed elsewhere anyway.

If I didn't have all of my EC and Moth amps I would get one of these and spend time with it, roll some tubes and then maybe swap out some capacitors if needed. These amps are all special and great value.

A huge thanks to Souldriver for giving me the opportunity to buy this!

I too can agree with the above comments regarding the atmosphere that cash is tight lately for most people. I have personally become much more cost conscious on purchases in the last 1-2 years. The nervosa sucks, but hard to ignore.

Time to research 300B pairings for this beauty! And if anyone who owns a Studio B can chime in on 300B recommendations, that'd be amazing. I'll also be scouring the SBAF forums in the next day or two to do some additional research. Matt has already given me his recommendations but definitely appreciate any other opinions!

EC is no longer. $2900 is cheap if you ask me. Every now and then, EC gets forgotten. I remember when the ZDs were going for $1100 with no takers about ten years ago just because Craig wasn't hitting the rounds at Can Jam.

The amp is like 10 times better than the Feliks Envy which costs 7000 Euro. It can also drive 4-ohm widebander speakers.

What @purr1n said. Having owned 4 EC amps and having heard pretty much the rest, they're very good. They'll be collectors amps going forward.

The speaker taps were a big seller for me, as well, since now I may sell some of my speaker amplification gear to help offset the cost.

I dont know what it is about the understated industrial look of the EC amps, but they all are absolutely stunning to my eyes (and ears). They're just perfection to me.

This. It is so hard to convey to others the worth of this amp. Not even counting the oop, special this and special that aspects, it just has a sound that will get you out of the gear search and listening for hours. Other amps i tried in this range do not compare (i never tried an LTA or DNA so exclude those) and for a step up the conclusion was either wait and grab a super rare Studio T or M or go custom. I went custom for money i probably shouldnt have and due to space constraints i decided to sell this.

I am still looking to find an EC something in the future, maybe one of Craig's phonos or an Aficionado. This was hard to let go. But better in an SBAFers hands than my closet. Ill kick myself when they sell for $6k a few years down the line.

@shotgunshane please close when you can. The ECSB has officially sold. Ty all.
