FS: Elekit 8800

Hi folks,

Putting my baby, Elekit 8800 tube amp up for sale. It's a speaker amp first, but has no issue driving most headphones in the market. Did a ton of upgrades since I first built this so I'm a little sad to let this one go, but I'm kind of focusing my setup on 2 channel audio now along with ETA development, and SW51+ is more than enough for my usage with Sennheisers. This is a DIY amp, so obviously no warranties or anything, but I'll help with troubleshooting or if you ever do further upgrades on this unit. DIYer and local strongly preferred because this thing weighs close to 30lbs thanks to the Lundahl transfo upgrades with all metal chassis. If I end up shipping, I'll need some time so I can pack this well.

Here's a list of mods I did:
- upgraded Lundahl transformers
- Jupiter Copper Foil caps (same one used in EC Af)
- Mundorf Caps
- (also has V-cap ODAM if you wanna cap roll)
- silver solder in all the pcb joints
- custom front impedance switcher (can handle iems to hard to drive headphones) Stock 8800 you would need to open the casing, move the jumper position then reassemble everything, (very annoying I know) but with this, you just flip the switches whenever you switch headphones w diff impedance, kinda like IEC switcher on DNA amps
- TKD potentiometer
- takman resistors
- custom powder coated chassis (Candy red color, aka anti-smurf blue, demon red)
- Various output and input tubes to roll (Tung Sol 6L6G, 7581a, GL KT88, valvo ECC81, Siemens ECC81)

I think I spent over $3k once I add all the upgrades I did along with tubes, I think it performs at least toe-to-toe with DNA Starlett but is more flexible in terms of tube rolling and option to toggle between Ultralinear sound Triode(SET) sound.

I'm asking $2500 net to me for Friends and KNOWN contributors and...$25000000000000000000000000 for randos (for now) I really hope this can stay within SBAF!

GLWS, i heard this amp last weekend. i would recommend this to anyone looking for the pentode sound and an amp that can do both headphones and HE speakers very well. The flexibility offered with different operating modes at a flip of a switch is really awesome feature.

 

Decent price for randos, should've been higher in my opinion. GLWS!

Also the rando ask price may be justifiable if you sell the jpeg of the amp as an NFT

 

Seen others do this move getting a SW51+ for headphone duty, then focus on their 2 ch set up. GLWS.
