@Mrstump5 ’disliked’ @Wilson ’s query to clarify if sbaf tradition was in effect which is that good deals in classifieds are restricted to friends + contributors. Wilson’s “f**k you” falls within limits of acceptable responses to Randos not considerate of sbaf cultural norms.

Mrstump made a newb mistake and if he is serious about becoming a regular then he will adjust or persist.

Mrstump, in sbaf classifieds posting “pm” or “interested” is usually frowned upon because its considered noise. Reducing clutter is an sbaf primary objective / normal operation / expected behavior / necessary. Over time you’ll earn some leeway so long as you dont abuse too much. Many of us have been temp banned for some infraction because we were ignorant of sbaf guidelines or made an error in judgement. Read the rules and perhaps consider yourself lucky that you only received a “f**k you”.

 

Excuse me for not spending my time on this forum. I don't necessarily see how replying to a sales post with pm is frowned upon lol. I just want to buy something. Seriously?

 

I have an idea on how the norms are too and I'd disliked a noob rando too if he's being annoying...Just think that this is a bit different since OP didnt specify friends/contributive contributors in the post.

And I wasn't sure about the 'disliking timeline', whether mrstump5 did it first to promp Wilson's response. But, I am also feeling a bit off tonight which might impair my judgement.

If I can just offer some friendly advise, just add a "friends only for now" statement to your ad. This community really does not like shilling or selling community oriented gear for profit (not you, but a rando who buys it from you), so keeping the Piety in this community is a strong desire for people and will stop all of this drama and make everyone happy.

 

Especially when Pietys are going for more money elsewhere. Keeping it within our community will help ensure that it doesn't get flipped on HF for more.

 

PS- Many here have messaged “PM’d” here including notable members. Normally it is a signal to others that “I got this one”. Especially on a hot item. No seller wants to deal with multiple PM’s.
