I have been hesitating for quite a while on putting it up for sale, as likely I will regret eventually parting with it. But now that I have ecp DSHA-3F (solid state) and EC Aficionado (tubes) to meet my ZMF headphone needs, it has been sitting idle, I don't enjoy having good gear stay unused, and I'd rather that someone else make good use of it.

 

Would love to try the Crossfeed function on this. And I love how "balance" is labelled LATERALITY ...

 

The more y'all ask about the neat features of this amp, the more I feel like backing off the sale Seriously, though, the crossfeed really works. In a tradeoff between better spatial impression and the other qualities (or elegant distortions...) of the 3F and Af, the latter win for my headphone listening, especially since most of it is of solo/small ensemble jazz and classical, where that sense of space is not so critical. When I hunger for more space, there's always the nice speaker system in the living room...

Wait wait wait... you mean you aren't keeping this so you can feed the output with crossfeed matrix into your other amps? C'mon dude!

XE does not have line outputs, only X does. Otherwise...

 

You could make an XLR4m to (2x XLR3m) adapter...

The X lineouts don't carry the matrix anyways, so you'd have to use the headphone output. This is why I have the 2 since it does have the option to pump the matrix out through the lineouts.

 

I guess I could, but I hardly have enough free time to listen to music, let alone putting cables together

 

FWIW, I bought a Youkamoo brand XLR4m <-> XLR3m*2 cable from Amazon…seems to be of good quality, and I've been using it for the DAC2541->PSB speakers from the phones out connector.

 

So I think the conclusion of this discussion is you should keep it for the crossfeed.

 

I may have to if I have no takers... Amazon is not showing the Youkamoo cable @Syzygy mentioned, but I've not searched very carefully yet.

Thank you, that's super-nice, but I can make one myself given enough free time, now that the idea came up. But @Metro provided some good links for pre-made ones.
