    This is sold!

I hate to do this, but I've come up on some unexpected expenses and can't afford keeping around a top tier turntable. So I'm putting up my brand new VPI Classic 2 SE, with HRX center weight and periphery ring. This could easily be an endgame table for most people into vinyl. This will also include the screw-on Delrin clamp that came with it.

The SE differs from the Classic 2 mainly in that it comes with a metal Classic 3 10" tonearm. I will not be including a cartridge with this, as the one I have is inexpensive and has a decent amount of hours on it, so I'm keeping it to put back on my downgrade table, a Technics SL-1800.

The table itself is in perfect condition. The Periphery Ring has a small dent on its top, which AFAIK shouldn't affect the sound, and is missing one of the felt strips on the inside. This was purchased used from Soundstage Direct and that is how it arrived to me. The Center Weight has a small notch at the top that looks like it isn't intentional, but I found it useful to count rotations when I run a brush along the record before playback.

Shipping will be in at least two boxes, maybe three if I can't fit the HRX weight and ring in the main boxes. Buyer to cover all shipping costs.

For Contributors I'm asking $2,700 for the whole package, and I'll cover shipping in the continental US. I'd prefer to sell it altogether as a package, I don't want to split up the HRX weight and ring if I don't have to.

Special deal for Friends only! $2,300 with shipping included to the Continental US!

Friends/Contributors only. The one solace I would take in selling this is that it will help a regular here take their vinyl game to 11.

Here's a photo of it in action:

    Thanks for looking!

You and me both. But needs must come before wants. I will return to this level of turntable again when my fortunes rise.

Beautiful deck. Hope this doesn't mean you're going with the 'death' option!

Thankfully I still have my trusty Technics SL-1800, the first turntable I bought when I got into vinyl many years ago. It was recommended to me as a good starter deck and I got it for a song from its first owner on eBay. Even when I upgrade again, I'm never getting rid of the Technics as it's given me a lot of vinyl joy over the years.

Giving this a bump so people have the opportunity to get in on it before I list it on Audiogon.

Since I've been getting nothing but lowball offers on Audiogon, I'm willing to make a deal here for Friends and maybe Contributors:

$3,000 before shipping, buyer to cover shipping and I will ship using whatever service they prefer. You're basically getting the center weight and outer ring for free, as the cost of the table by itself is $3,000. Let me know if you're interested, thanks!

Update, price drop in general and special price for friends. I'd love it if a friend here would be able to take this off my hands instead of a stranger. I'll also entertain offers from friends, just PM me and we can discuss.

This price is beyond fair for friends especially. I don't have the funds for this but you ain't gonna find better than this deal and from a fellow SBAFer no less.

Uuuhhhh yeah the ring on its own is 1k and doesn't pop up used often if at all. This is an amazing deal that I'm sure Merrick is doing because he has to, and not because he wants to. Anyone considering a vinyl chain or thinking of upgrading should jump on this. For reference a Classic 1 usually goes for 1600-1700 and doesn't include a periphery ring etc. which you will want, and this is a classic SE, Sweet Christmas.

Thanks guys! To reiterate, in addition to the periphery ring/HRX center weight, this also comes with a Classic 3 metal tonearm, so in that regard it's also upgraded from the standard Classic 2.

I really would love to pass it on to a Friend here, to keep it in the community.

This is seriously a great table, I'm hoping someone here who's on the fence due to costs or something decides to make the leap and go for it. Special table.
