This just came in off the truck near one of the dealers in my area. All that talk about dealers more willing to sell at end of the month to meet their numbers seems true. Tempted. This is my number one choice for color too.

This one is neat too - ridiculous and awesome.

Noted the Scat Pack is a step up from the R/T even with the Super Track Pack. The brakes are touchy and grab quick like beemers. Cornering is much flatter. I can be on the gas all day on the 5.7L. On the Scat Pack with the 6.4L / 392, it seems restraint is the proper approach. This is good. I did say I wanted something scary. I wonder if the advertised 485hp is slightly underrated. Feels like more than a 100hp jump, considering the weight of these cars, from the 5.7L.

I hear that. The throttle is much more immediate, especially in sport mode. It'll snap your neck back pretty good.

I have a friend who is an engineer at Chrysler. He had a 2015 scat pack Challenger, and that thing was really nice. He traded it for a ram so he could do "truck stuff". He always talks about how much he misses it though.

The SRTs, scat packs and the 392s have a much more aggressive tune in them than the 5.7s. They increase the throttle response speed and shift hardness (for autos) in the ECU, along with more aggressive spark and fuel maps. My diablosport tune transformed my 300C into a complete animal with only adjusting similar parameters.

Also, Chrysler has a history of under rating their big power cars. The original 426 max wedge Hemi was rated at 425hp, but actually made 150-200 more hp at the top end of the rpm range.

Edit: here's a pic of the ol' 300C.

That is a pretty color and they are damn nice looking cars.

One thing though those yellow things on the front...it was always my impression that were were protectors for the lip on the front of the car and they were supposed to be taken off but people around here drive with them on all the time. Just a weird observation is all.

When I was on the lot, I took at look at the 300S and 300C. They actually look super nice, like nice enough that I would seriously consider buying one if I were in the market for an more upscale sedan. Too bad they don't throw the 392 motor in it, but that's probably a different market segment. Looks like FCA has been keeping them refreshed over the years. I really like what I'm seeing from FCA. I'm still trying to get over the days of Daimler Chrysler. Haha, remember them? Daimler screwed up Chrysler so badly and ruined its reputation for several years after. Anyone with half a brain would have known that the Americans and Germans could have never gotten along - I can't think of a worse cross-cultural mismatch.

Yup. I see people with Challengers and Chargers driving around with them on. I think it's a trend. Maybe in El Lay with the horrible roads and steep ramps into parking lots, they are needed. Some people who threw them away years ago are now trying to buy them. I think of it like Asian people keeping the plastic wrap on their furniture. Just as furniture is meant to be destroyed by kids or cats, front splitters on cars are supposed to get scraped.

And I just noticed on a new Mustang GT. WTH did Ford do to the Mustang front-end? So ugly - it was so nice before.

2019 Charger refresh lineup just released. facelift looks nice! no major changes to trims. R/T Scat Pack gets launch control, though.

Imposing New Face, Interior and New Performance Upgrades Lead Revamped Dodge Charger Performance Lineup for 2019
•Dodge repositions the Charger lineup to include a new SXT all-wheel-drive (AWD) model and new Charger GT rear-wheel-drive (RWD) performance model; both are powered by the award-winning Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 engine, which delivers up to 300 horsepower and up to 30 miles per gallon
•Charger GT and R/T models receive a full complement of race-bred chassis upgrades and features along with new performance looks, such as a performance hood with air induction, styled fascia, sculpted side sills, decklid spoiler and seats
•New for 2019, Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat and R/T Scat Pack feature standard performance upgrades, including Launch Assist and Line Lock; a new performance grille with dual air inlets; new Launch Control switch on R/T Scat Pack; and Torque Reserve, After-Run Chiller on SRT Hellcat

June 28, 2018 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Dodge//SRT continues to run at full throttle in the North American large sedan segment, revamping the entire Charger lineup for 2019. As America’s only four-door muscle car and the sales leader in the segment five years running, Dodge continues to charge ahead of its competition with upgrades both inside and out.

New for 2019, Dodge is repositioning the Charger lineup into six distinct, attitude-infused models that offer a range of performance and powertrain options for every modern muscle-car customer. The lineup ranges from the 707-horsepower Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat – the quickest, fastest and most powerful sedan in the world – to the efficient V-6 power of the new Charger GT RWD performance model and the all-wheel-drive capability of the new SXT AWD model.

“Despite a shift toward utility vehicles in the United States over the past decade, the Dodge Charger and Challenger continue to buck the trend,” said Steve Beahm, Head of Passenger Car Brands, Dodge//SRT, Chrysler and FIAT – FCA North America. “Charger and Challenger retail sales have increased 70 percent since 2008, and since the launch of Scat Pack in August 2014, high-performance model sales increased from 4 percent to more than 25 percent. Charger is on track to lead the large car segment in the United States for the fifth straight year in 2018, and we intend to keep that string alive by updating the product to deliver the performance and capability that our customers demand.”

Dealer orders for the 2019 Dodge Charger open in late June 2018 and vehicles are scheduled to arrive in Dodge dealerships in the third quarter of 2018.

    Charger SRT Hellcat
The 2019 Charger SRT Hellcat remains the quickest, fastest and most powerful sedan in the world with the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® V-8 that delivers 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine is mated to the quick-shifting TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted shift paddles.

New for 2019, the Charger SRT Hellcat features a new performance grille with dual inlets that feed cooler, outside air into the engine compartment. Bolstering the performance is the addition of four race-inspired technologies that come standard on Hellcat, including:
•Launch Assist, which uses wheel speed sensors to watch for driveline-damaging wheel hop at launch and, in milliseconds, modifies the engine torque to regain full grip
•Line Lock, which engages the front brakes to hold the Charger SRT Hellcat stationary, but leaves the rear wheels free for a burnout to heat up and clean the rear tires
•After-Run Chiller, which keeps cooling the supercharger/charge air cooler after the engine is shut off
•Torque Reserve, which closes a bypass valve to prefill the supercharger and manages fuel flow and spark advance to balance engine rpm and torque, generates a reserve of torque that is delivered upon acceleration from a standing stop

New instrument panel badging, a Satin Black painted hood option, available Brass Monkey 20-inch forged wheels and an Alcantara interior package are also new to Charger SRT Hellcat for the 2019 model year.

    Charger R/T Scat Pack
The 2019 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack is the most muscle for the dollar, powered by the naturally aspirated 392 HEMI V-8, it delivers 485 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft. of torque, mated to the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, priced less than $40,000.

New for 2019, Launch Assist and Line Lock are now standard features on the R/T Scat Pack for optimum performance at launch from a standstill. A new switch on the dashboard provides quick access to initialize Launch Control, which coordinates the engine, transmission, driveline and suspension for an optimal launch and consistent straight-line acceleration.

R/T Scat Pack features the same new performance grille with dual air inlets as the SRT Hellcat and adds a new Scat Pack bee badge on the decklid, replacing the R/T badge. New Dark Dub Plate instrument panel and Houndstooth cloth performance seat with an added Scat Pack bee logo are also standard. Dual Carbon stripes, a Satin Black-painted hood and Bilstein three-mode Adaptive Damping Suspension are added to the available options.

    Charger R/T
The 2019 Dodge Charger R/T is powered by the iconic 5.7-liter HEMI V-8, rated at 370 horsepower and 395 lb.-ft. of torque and mated to the standard TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission.

For 2019, the Charger R/T adopts new performance looks and features standard, including the performance hood, fascia, sculpted side sills, spoiler and seats. Race-bred chassis upgrades, including a standard performance suspension, 2.62 rear axle ratio, enhanced steering, steering wheel with paddle shifters, Dodge Performance Pages with the 8.4-inch Uconnect screen, Houndstooth cloth bolstered performance seats, new Dark Dub Plate instrument panel, and new 20-inch Satin Carbon and Black Noise wheel options.

Available on the R/T is the new Cold Weather Package, which includes heated steering wheel, heated cloth driver and passenger seats.

    Charger SXT AWD
The Charger SXT AWD model, new for 2019, is powered by the award-winning Pentastar V-6 engine, rated at 300 horsepower and 264 lb.-ft. of torque, and mated to the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, delivering up to 27 mpg on the highway. The all-wheel-drive system is automatic with an active transfer case and front-axle disconnect, which helps minimize powertrain parasitic losses.

Available options on the SXT AWD are a new Caramel Nappa leather interior, Houndstooth cloth sport seats and the Blacktop Package, which includes a new 19-inch Black Noise wheel. The new Cold Weather Package is also available on the SXT AWD, which includes heated steering wheel and heated cloth driver and passenger seats.

    Charger GT
The new Dodge Charger GT RWD performance model is powered by the award-winning Pentastar V-6 engine, rated at 300 horsepower and 264 lb.-ft. of torque and mated to the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission.

For 2019, the GT adopts new performance looks and features standard, including performance hood, fascia, sculpted side sills, spoiler and seats. Race-bred chassis upgrades, including a standard performance suspension, 3.07 rear axle ratio, enhanced steering with paddle shifters, Dodge Performance Pages with the 8.4-inch Uconnect screen, Houndstooth cloth bolstered performance seats, new Dark Dub Plate instrument panel, and new 20-inch Satin Carbon and Black Noise wheel options.

The new Cold Weather Package is also available on GT, including heated steering wheel and heated cloth driver and passenger seats.

    Charger SXT
The powerful, roomy and solid Charger SXT model is powered by the standard Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6, rated at 292 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, working with a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. For 2019, Charger SXT includes electronic stability control, remote start, cruise control, electric power steering, capless fuel filler, automatic halogen projector headlamps with LED accents and three 12-volt power outlets.

Available options for SXT include Houndstooth cloth sport seats, a new Caramel Nappa leather interior, the popular Blacktop Package, which includes a new 20-inch Black Noise wheel, and the new Cold Weather Package, which includes heated steering wheel and heated cloth driver and passenger seats.

    Charger Exterior Colors
Available exterior colors for all 2019 Dodge Charger models include B5 Blue, Destroyer Grey, F8 Green, Go Mango, Granite Crystal, IndiGo Blue, Maximum Steel, Octane Red, Pitch Black, Plum Crazy, TorRed, Triple Nickel and White Knuckle.

Oh man you don't have to remind me of Daimler. My father has worked for Chrysler for 28 years so I know well the Daimler struggles. Ironically, the LX platform and it's variants (300, Magnum, Charger and Challenger) were the only good things to come out of that deal.

Daimler fucked Chrysler HARD. Took all their pension funds (billions of dollars) and used it to purchase assets for themselves, then filed bankruptcy for Chrysler and collected the insurance money for themselves, leaving the U.S. government and Fiat to pick up the pieces.

Wow, this thread seems like a time warp. Being a poor Appalachia kid in the 70s, the coolest I could muster was a '66 Mustang... but wait for it ... Straight 6 cyl, auto, no fun. Brings back memories of the guys racing 1/4 mile over the town bridge in their Chargers, Nova SS, and Hornets.

I did own one 4 liter V8 car in my life and it was nice but heavy. Top speed was good though. I think I would go for one of the hot Golfs now a days if the price was right, post diesel monkeybiz.

Prices were very right in 2017. Even Rs were discounted. Got 20% off a GTI. Don't know the state of play today.

We're an a another Golden Age of HP. It's nuts how powerful most cars are now. Camrys and Accords are doing 0-60 in well under six seconds. Automakers are also paying a ton of attention to handling, brakes, and safety to these high HP cars - to the extent that "European car" handling isn't all that special anymore once you hit a certain trim level on the domestics (note Lexus has had their F-sport stuff for a while). The latest Camaro xSS are basically track cars that can double duty as daily drivers. Ford finally got their shit together to really compete with the Camaro with their Performance Package Level 2.0 (including a limited slip, LOL) that we can slap on to a GT. Of course good luck finding even one of these Mustangs available at a dealership, and if you do, it's going to be priced a nick over $50k. Both the Camaro and Mustang as equipped will run rings around any Euro "sports" coupe / sedan. Heck, even the Dodge Scat Pack / Hellcat twins handle surprisingly well with barely any body roll, a well damped ride, and fantastic braking. They fall behind the the Euro "sports" sedans in that they are not as willing to turn in, but then again the Challenger is the size of a BMW 5 series and the Charger is closer to a 7. I'd also venture to say that the 15 year old LX/LD/LA platforms are more trustworthy at or past the limit than the E90/E92. The E46s I felt far more comfortable at the limit, and IMO still set the bar for steering. BMW ceased to be the "ultimate driving machine" after the E46. Some say it was even before that. (I do find the M2 appealing. If I get rid of my BRZ, I'd probably get a used M2 to replace it).

All good news to me because I don't need launch control nor do I need a Hellcat grill nor do I need a black hood; and "newer" means FCA is offering more incentives on existing 2018 MY stock. (The incentives are pretty nuts right now). End of month means dealers text me with written offers I can work with. So I came home with one.

    IMG_20180628_080541.jpg

This is the exact car that I wanted: Fit three kids in the back, my wife in the front. I'm a pretty chill driver, often leaving a good amount of space in front in case I need to brake suddenly. Because of this, El Lay douchbags, the ones who like to swerve around in traffic, like to cut in front of me. I was utterly helpless in the BRZ. Now I can cruise along at 1800 rpm, and when I see that douchy guy in the slammed 3 series or FRS about to overtake and cut in front of me, I can wait ... until the last minute, and then apply 2/3s throttle. The computer will kick down a gear or two to only 3500rpm, the exhaust will bark loudly telling them to FO, and that gap is closed in an instant. Go around the other way douchebag. Yes, please get out of my face and drive around and through the middle and right lanes past ten more cars if you feel such an urgent need for pole position. This actually happened twice driving back on the 101 today.

That's badass and a sweet color as well.

Also, I do the exact same thing. I hate tailgating people but I hate being cut off even more.

I lived in Detroit for 21 years and the drivers there are crazy aggressive, so when I moved to Indianapolis 4 years ago it was very hard to adjust to the wayyyy slower pace of driving. I felt pretty laid back in Detroit but in Indianapolis I was like the biggest douche on the road driving the exact same way. I can't imagine how crazy LA is, the traffic there is insane.

Now isn't the time to move on a mk7.5 - deals aren't anywhere near what they were on 2017 mk7s. I also was out-the-door on a '17 GTI Sport for more than 20% off MSRP. Mk8's are supposed to be coming for MY20, though mk7.5s will be the last non-hybrid/ICE-only drivetrains.

Congrats, @purr1n! That one also has the adjustable suspension, right. Probably the most kickass family car around.

Good choice. I had my 335 in for service last week, and it was all I could do to keep from drooling on the showroom floor. I personally think it might be the best looking BMW ever.

Love it, but black is so tough to keep clean - well really any dark color is. I have a dark blue and I've been meaning to wash it for like a month - it looks like crap. I previously had a silver color which was much more tolerant of my laziness.

Almost all my cars in my entire life have been black or white. Current one is Ruby Black. Yes, the hardest colors to keep looking good for sure, but worth the effort afterwards IMHO. I swear by the Klasse All-in-One and Pinnacle Souveran combo.
