    Sorry for the late response.

Yeah, I still love them. But I realized a while ago that it needed "special treatment", so that's why the mod guide is coming along very slowly as I try to trickle down the amount of work required. The problem is that the pads were designed with a different target response in mind, likely to compensate for the smaller diaphragm size of the original HE60, and so they kind of restrict the HD580/600/650 in the same sense.

If you're curious and able to, I think you should try them and see for yourself whether they fit in with your setup or not.

My take on the HD580: "Poor man's JAR580"
    - basically added a fk ton of dynamat like material all over the rear side (3 layers of it LOL) and used a bigger foam that covers the entirety of the driver. The foam is the same type used in JAR650. This thing is pretty heavy now, it's pretty hilarious.
    - on the front side, I didn't do much other than adding tungsten putty used by @E_Schaaf . Reason for that is because the 580 came with a different front foam that is a lot thinner than the official Sennheiser ones, and I actually liked the sound of it a lot. It's less veiled sounding and slightly brighter from a quick switcharoo.
    - Some EARS measurement w/ SBAF comp. Take it w/ a grain of salt since I'm a noob at measuring, but comparatively it does sound slightly brighter and livelier than my JAR650, which has been my reference can for some time now.
    - I thought the upper mids would bother me a lot, but actually had no issues so far.
    - weird thing is this hd580 even in stock form, had better bass extension on EARS than JAR650, I tried measuring multiple times and even used the same set of pads for measurement, but same results....weird. Once modded, I did manage to extend it a bit more, which is p cool. I think this was mainly from the "Octo mod" that I learned from my friend @manBun . The hd580 sounds slightly more spacious when I use a bigger rear foam enclosure than a coin sized foam like used in JAR mods.

Ok the mod definitely looked too DIY so i cut up some areas so that the other stock pieces can fit. Now it looks just like a regular hd580. Sexy
