HD800 "French Mod" aka "SuperDupont Resonator"

Sign me up! - no measurement system - so put anyone with a measurement system ahead of me! I only have the changstar rugliner at the moment and working on getting some cork for the rings+traps.

 

Great stuff! I would like to get one. I do have a measurement rig.

I'm particularly interested to see if I can use this without needing a thick rugliner. I'm currently using the Changstar mod template but with the rugliner from the community mod. I'm happy with the sound but the rugliner touches my ears and it's annoying sometimes.

 

@sorrodje no measurement rig here, but if you're interested I can source you some pre-cut cork mod to test if that helps with the sound. I think the combination is what makes it golden, would love to see your measurements on it.

 

I would also be interested in this mod - no measurement system, so put me down the list as well. Recently aquired completely unmodded 800's so plan doing full SBAF mod.

 

I'd love to be part of the testers, but no measurement rig finalized yet. I do have the HD800 and a bunch of setups to test against it. If not I will try to replicate your post and see if i can approximate your results.

 

If there is rare chance that there ends up being an empty spot I'm very interested in trying these out. No rig, but I would certainly do a comprehensive write up of my thoughts.

 

This is getting better and better. For what it's worth I took out the rugliner (fairly thick one) from my hd800, it was muffling the clarity of the hd800 when combined with the original frenchmod. Personally I think the mod can be working on its own, but for anyone who will favor tonality over clarity, it might be the winning ticket.

Highly Interested, no measurement rig. Live in Sweden for what it's worth. Regardless of outcome I'm thankful for all of this work you have done. Currently using the first version of this Dupont resonator.

Are you still EU distributor for the SBAF mod? Because, depending on when that arrives you could also ship both in the same box.

Thanks so much for all your work on this! Those measurements of the mod relative to the HD800S look really impressive. Would it be possible for you to give more subjective comparisons? How close do you think the mod sounded to the HD800S? In particular, I was wondering if the mod gives the same benefit in terms of helping with the recessed mids.
