don't buy CD changers anymore. My antique Sony ES changer bit the dust tonight. Makes a lot of noise, but no music. Since I had it modded, I will try to see if repair is available. Worth a try. I still have a Denon changer at my beach home. Might just have to swap out. You can buy new CD players, but no changers.
If you go on Audiogon, There are 5 figure CD players so somebody other than me still likes the CD format.

Yamaha still makes a 5 disc changer, maybe Denon and Onkyo too?

I was never a changer fan,all that clicking and whirring, but I'm still a daily CD user. Hell, I still have and use a Tascam CD recorder.

I always prefer single drive CD players.

Not using a cd player at all at them moment. When I still had a speaker system up and running, and my CD player had died, I did what our local genius-hifi-repair-man* suggested: us a cheap DVD player. No track by track display was about the only downside.

    Not very audiophile, but works.

*spell check suggests that this should be "Rivest-Shamir-Adleman," but that's rubbish because his name is Sayeed.

You probably will spend more fixing the changer than it's worth. Just grab one cheap off fleabay if you're set on another changer.

Thanks, Pogo. I went to Amazon and they had 2 new ones to choose from. The latest one is still on Yamaha's website and that's the one I bought. It will go in my HT system since it is not for critical listening, mostly just Christmas music.

Looks very nice for the price. I have an old Denon at my beach home. Its no where as good as that one. My dead Sony ES changer was modded with better bits at least ten years ago.
My HT receiver is a Pioneer Elite and its remote died two weeks ago and I can't find a replacement. I am getting extra exercise getting my fat but off the couch to turn it on, off, lower and louder.
Moral of the story: when you get old, your shit starts falling apart.
