    Like a grumpy seagull!

When you wrote "my nose will tell me to go back", are you talking about allergies? I'm allergic but where I live the weather is rainy and humid, so I don't have much trouble with allergy in spring and summer. The sunny days are humid and soft (sea breeze), so the 20-30 sunny days per year are great.

    1. Been improving cooking. Learning how to prepare venison has been fun. Going to try my hand at making my own orange chicken (inspired by Panda Express of course, but I want to make it better).
    2. Drinking with family (and on Zoom) has never been more fun. Never taking fam for granted again.
    3. SR1a with stimus check (hey thanks @Bloom!).

@ChaChaRealSmooth . Your #3 is tempting me. We just got our stimulus money. I decided to be responsible and put it in savings. Oh all these choices!

Oh right on! Yeah those are great HPs!

Well I'm really loving the new TT. I have been enjoying a very nice sounding Megadeth rust in peace, among many others. Good times.

Cleaned my room and and home office of years of cruft and "I'll install it next week" and "I should put that box in storage" and "I really should sort this".

Nice to see the floor again, and my recliner is much better seat than it is a storage shelf.

Where are you getting venison around southern CA (IIRC CA like some other states doesn't allow the commercial sale of game meat)? Haven't seen it anywhere around and it's not hunting season yet but I'd like to get some myself.

    1. Have lost a good amount of weight - no special program or whatever, just a little exercise like a brief walk on most days and not eating out a ton.
    2. Getting better at some other hobbies and reading or watching more instructional videos to become more knowledgeable, etc.
    3. Brushing up on some engineering stuff (probably not as much as I should though).

Posting here since I didn't realize there was a thread up already for it; practicing knife skills! Bought an Usuba knife, so learning how to cut with a one sided knife has been interesting to say the least.

When testing it out, my brother asked how sharp it was. He then shaved off the tip of his fingernail accidentally haha.

I'm thankful for a bunch of things. I never cook and I made curry red lentils twice. It's amazingly satisfying to cook something from scratch that tastes actually good. I've been doing a lot of reading to my girls. We finished Little Women and now I'm reading Island of the Blue Dolphins and the Horse and His Boy to them. I've also picked up a novel for myself which I haven't in a long time. We've gone on walks in our neighborhood most nights and gotten to meet way more neighbors. I've also gone on early morning walks and have been listening to sermons, something I used to more of. Overall, we're eating much healthier too, without doing fast food. My work world has been strange though! I'm a pastor; this Sunday will be twelve weeks in a row preaching to a webcam. I guess that's another thing I'm learning: live streaming. Working now on a more permanent set up at the church. One last thing, I'm slowly working on taking all our digital photos, from the many various sources, and trying to get them organized in one place in the clouds. It's a big project... and somehow I've managed to avoid doing my taxes yet!

I started a new job about a month before COVID hit, and thankfully the company is awesome. I've been working from home since early March, and have a great 2ch setup to listen to in the room.

I've also dropped about 30 lbs since March, and just hit my wedding weight for the first time since I was married 11+ years ago.

its horrible what ill say in the circumstance, but damn this Covid virus makes me life so much easier, i can make a list:

1- My school Paramedics program is now being given via Zoom. this makes the physical exam extremely easy. and the theoretical exams are a joke how easy they are (I mean we can just open our book to look for the answer). so yeah, all the school related stress is gone

2- Canada decided to help us student even more. I get 1600$ cad simply given to me each month for 4 months

3- Time to spend with my GF is awesome

4- I have so much time on my end, ive started to build my dream big 3 way hi efficiency speaker. It should be built within a month or two.

5- The national test for Paramedic is probable postpone. that means that rather then finishing my program next year and having to go thruw a huge stressful national test both physical and theoric exams, ill be automatically allowed to work. the demand in Paramedic is so needed that yeah, free pass for me.

    1. My forced hiatus from employment has been doing wonders to my mental health. Looking for work sucks schlanger, but working like I did it, used to suck way way more.

    2. My cooking skills have gone through the roof. The GF is working, so I cook for her. I've learned at least 5 ways how to turn canned pork into delicious dishes.

    3. Going shopping once a week has improved my planning greatly.

I decided I needed a foot rest since my office chair is a bit high, so I built a simple one from scrap wood. I then decided I needed a better mitre saw, so I sold mine and got a Dewalt 12" sliding saw. I'm looking forward to something, although I don't know what! Maybe a bookcase.

I made stands a few years ago, but there are some cool designs I’ve seen recently that have caught my eye. The ones I have are pretty basic, just a plywood base, a 4” pvc pipe, the plywood top, all painted black. I also made a box joint jig and tried some samples, but I have more work to do their. I’m thinking of a new case for the mainline.
Speaker stands are good idea. Thanks.

    They look great!

But now you have me thinking about a foot rest. Can you share a pic of yours? I need design ideas.
