    Dear friends:

Any info (manuals, brochures, etc.) would be very much appreciated: I failed to find anything online, unfortunately.

Could somebody please tell me what the sensitivity of the 4500’s is? I know they are 8 Ohm nominal, 120W RMS, but that is about all I know.

If I am not mistaken, this model was introduced some time around 1976, and, if this is correct, would you suggest changing the capacitors in cross-overs? Anything else I should consider, please?

What amplifier, in terms of wattage, would you recommend to employ with the 4500’s?

I would just break out the 'Rush' albums and have at it.

All I know about these is that they are the smaller siblings of the 5500s. My starting point would be vintage amps/receivers/integrated amps from the same era. My Yamahas push 100 watts and 120 watts, but you don't necessarily need all that. I bet anything in the 40 watt and up area would do them justice...

Do you have a budget? Do you favor tubes ($$$) over solid state?

Thank you very kindly ButtUglyJeff for your help!
Should we not know their sensitivity first to determine the amplification requirements?
Your 5500s are quite sensitive at 98 dB/oct, and would certainly be happy with low wattage amps...
In terms of the budget I would like to stay below $500 used, unless something truly exceptional comes my way. I am looking for something maintenance-free, and, therefore, would prefer SS amp.
