Got a chance to hear the Kennerton Algiz IEMs. I just used comply tips and didn't mess with the other ones as I've had good luck with comply tips before.

Overall I'm not impressed. First of all, they don't really resolve very well. I tried them both out of my Yggdrasil/Rag (this works surprisingly well with IEMs) and my iPhone 6S. Both showed that these were lacking in resolution compared to my UERMs. Sounds got really congested, especially with the more complicated tracks. While there was some detail, it wasn't well separated. Things like plucking of strings and vocals lacked that realness I've come to enjoy with other setups.

The whole time the music felt like it was in another room. I kept turning it up, hoping more power would solve things, but it just didn't. It was like turning up the music in the other room, it just never gets better, just different. The bass was very present and had sharp transients but poor decay and not well rounded out. The highs were very much the same, sibilant and with sharp transients. It's like the two were trying to make up for the other room effect. The mids were low and while present, took a back seat to the bass and the treble.

Overall, these are not the worst headphones I have ever heard, they definitely are somewhere there in mid-fi, but the other room effect would absolutely drive me bonkers. It's like you keep trying and trying and never finding enjoyment in your music. The treble and bass are bothersome, but less of a nuisance than other room effect. The Magistrars seemed to have the same problem. Maybe it's the Kennerton house sound and the acoustical engineer has his tunes in the other room. Captured perfectly I'd say other room engineer.
