    SOLD

Selling one of these for a friend. He owns both of these but only wants to keep one to fund new projects. I have the Oak one with me right now and he has the Ebony. Both have all the original stuff they come with including the gigantic shipping box.

My fourth picture shows a little dot. I tried looking at it closely and it seems like a knot rather than a ding. However, the pictures of the Ebony are scratches. I took the pictures of the Oak version today but if you want timestamps of either I'd be glad to provide them.

I haven't been that active here recently so here's my Head-Fi feedback: https://www.head-fi.org/trader/history?user_id=113461

$825 shipped for Oak and $735 for Ebony. If you have any questions just PM me I can direct you to him.

@Armaegis I just got a pair of HD800S today. So no more headphone hunting...

My dilemma is that I've always liked the look of the Oak version more than the Ebony (if only because the silver furniture won't wear as quickly, and because the oak looks lovely). Funds permitting, I'd have jumped on these faster than Lion-O laying a beatdown on Mumm-Ra.

    Good luck!

Thanks! If I wasn’t moving next month and dedicating all my hobby funds to furnishing the new place I’d have been tempted to buy them myself. They’re great fun and I actually prefer the Oak too. It’s a bit more unique-looking to me.

More than a bit, I'd say, they look like a piece of steampunk art! I suppose the Ebony does too but the effect's not as pronounced. Kinda annoyed that I somehow managed to chip the black paint on mine already, wabi-sabi aesthetic be damned, haha.

Incidentally, if anyone can help figure out what finish they used I'd be in your debt. Either that or just let nature take its course.

Appears to be a varnish that dries satin.

Oh nah, not the varnish on the cups, the paint used on the metal gimbals, haha.

Ah, most likely a satin paint similar to house of kolor (no metallic flakes or very small metallic flakes) with no clear coat. Air brushed or hvlp. Doesn't look anodized, plated or powder coated.
