    This is the ESP95X, but powered with the built-in energizer. The 4.8kHz attack burst still has that first overshoot, but not as much as above. The above were from iESL->Vidar. We can see some of that limp-dick bass thing going on with the freebie Koss amp. I may need to run these again to confirm.

    Lots of variables. As @CEE TEE said, different amps could result in different envelopes. This of course scares me because there are not enough hours in the day. I could do research and discover all day long on this stuff.

    Schiit has no interest in building anything 580+ volts, do they? I'd be totally down to try it out if they did though :) Hopefully it would pair up well with the promised second coming of nerdOrpheus.

    Probably too "political". The folks at HC with Kevin Gilmore as their STAX ring-leader would likely tear it down, crap on it, and say how it would kill people. They do this with every piece of gear for electrostatic headphones including the very positively reviewed iESL just recently here. They probably had good intentions, but the end result has been a lack of choice with respect to electrostatic headphone amps.

    Jason is probably thinking: Why enter this niche market? Too much grief.

    Sorry to bump this dead thread but I didn't want to make a new one. I've been using my 95X's for a while now and I'm wondering what easy mods there are other than these pads. Seems like I read something about replacing a part in the energizer somewhere but I can't find it.

    I have heard of people getting a fancier power brick for the included amp. I use the iESL with an Aegir power amp, but $$$ and kind of dumb / extreme.

    We should ask @schiit again.
