I doubt it. Looking at the internals, I don't see anything pushing BOM into anything other than ordinary cost ranges. 5000 Euro is about $6000 USD. That is pretty insane considering I can get a Yggdrasil A2, AF, and cables dipped in unicorn piss for that price.

On the plus side it is more aesthetically pleasing than the V281 to my eyes but not enough to pay more than double.

I dig the enormous, chamfered volume knob with easy to read position though.

    Definite knob envy.

I like the design aesthetic, and the V281 too. Definite knob envy.

Since TOTL $4000 headphones are a norm now, TOTL amps for $5000 sounds right :/

5000€ is actually the euro price with VAT. USA price is more like $5000

Unicorn-saliva cables are 98% of the way there, stop being a huge baby :p

Seriously though, more amps need balance pots again.

I’ve owned some violectric amps, severely overpriced for what they offer.

4000€ for the base model and they leave the input selector on the back.

Add another 1k for the plus version and they move the input selector switches to the front but still leave the gain switches on the back.

At least the volume knob is awesome though.

Frankly at this price I'm tempted to tell them what they can do with their knobs, but sweet Hesus if this is where hi-fi is going I'm perfectly happy in mid-fi purgatorio. Or with waiting for you rich bastards to sell their stuff at a decent price to plebs like yours truly :p

For people who can make sense of amp architecture from the photos, insane markups aside are there any discernible improvements over regular Violectric/Lake People stuff? I rather like the G109A (for its price), though I admit I'm still an amp noob by and large so could still be missing a lotta stuff.

Add 1/3 of mine and together we might have a chance; it's soaked in unicorn piss.

Looking forward to some reviews of the US4(+) although I don't know what they were thinking with the pricing. Got a fully upgraded V281 for a steal recently and I adore it, absolutely deserves to be among the SS top dogs.

But for the 5 grand that the US4+ costs compared to a fully upgraded V281 at $3000 it better deliver stellar performance and the fact that it externally almost looks exactly like the V281 and only a advertised -12db noise reduction as main improvement to a already inky black amplifier leave me rather worried.
