Here's the latest project I'm working on with my son. A few of you guys asked me to post the progress on this. Take a guess what we are building (those who went to the meet already know.) HINT: What would require a LOT of grey pieces.

    LOL, hell no.

    Dammit. That was quick.

I missed out on buying this a few years ago, and now the Lego set is almost $1000 on eBay. I got the parts list and manual; and bought the all pieces for a little bit more than third of that.

Damn, this looks awesome. I have two daughters. One of them is going to hate me in her therapists office when she's an adult, but Im going to raise one of them as a boy just so I can play legos and RPG video games with her/him.

You're right. True story: my daughter today wanted a lego set. But it was Cinderella's cat in a pumpkin carriage or some horrible shit!

My daughter is 5. She has the above Frozen lego set. She also drools over the 4 foot tall Darth Vader we see every time we go to Target.

It doesn't have to be one or the other. Having a daughter is awesome. |\/|

The craziest thing is that my daughter has not yet seen a Disney movie and yet knows all the princesses already. =(

Don't worry. They grow out of that fast. My daughter is into the Creator series now. She did most of the Chinese threatre while I sorted the pieces for her: http://www.superbestaudiofriends.org/index.php?threads/fun-hobbies-for-holidays-the-lego-thread.928/

She's ten now and looks back on her Lego Friends series: "I can't believe I liked that stuff. It's stupid and all purple." The only thing we kept was the Friends Yacht. The stables, high school, house, etc. have been re-purposed for the super star destroyer and a custom jewelry store that will go next to the Chinese theatre.

    That's intense.

Have the kids shown any interest in your audio obsession yet?

Other than my son Will said of the Logitech computer speakers "those are bad, those are really really bad" after hearing HEK < EC Studio < VPI TT

My wife would not leave the vinyl rig last night though. She hadn't heard the Studio before, at least not with the SDS and new phono pre I have.

I'm just getting my jollies off of the Legos as I grew up poor. Legos are expensive, but nothing compared to audio.

    "Impressive.
    Most impressive."

But they don't wear headphones while piecing together that gigantic beast of Imperial technology?

Well, I'm sure you'll notice something the background.
    DSC_2125 (Medium).JPG

What usually happens is towards the end of the build (we split it up into sections) my kids get fatigued. We take turns between builder and parts finder. The Super Star Destroyer is actually a fairly easy build. The Technics are much harder. We did a 24 hour Technics race car a few weekends before.

Not that big, but open layouts and everything on one floor. Currently in negotiation with wife where it goes after we are done. I suggested on top of the piano in the living room. As you can see, it's getting even bigger, well at least longer.

LEGO should crank out more of these kits to screw over the shitheads who hoarded this kit and are selling for $1000 on eBay. There's obviously demand.

TIL Marv thinks his open floor plan 6,000 sq ft mediterranean style villa is not that big.
