Thanks for the impressions Purrin. V2 sounds promising for HD650. Any update on HD800?

Probably a stupid question but is there any way to get the benefit of the balanced output without spending a $100 (minimum-diy impaired) on cables for the HD600? Seems if i don't already have the cable I'm just as good using a V2/Magni2 combo... Willing to be convinced otherwise though :)

Also, anyone tried the V2 (FRM) w the ER4S? I'm imagining it sounding good...

Unfortunately not, you have to get new cables to do balanced.

If you can solder, all you need to do is to buy a five or six dollar part and re-terminate the existing cable.

I'm going to have to spend quite a bit more money on an amp to do better than the HD650 balanced out of the GOV2, aren't I?

I got a balanced cable for my HD650 from Mimic Cables for $50. I'm very happy with it for the cost. Make sure you ask him not to cover too much of the connectors with shrinky stuff, otherwise you'll have to trim them back yourself.

Extremely good. impressive, jaw dropping. Can't believe such a little USB powered device can offer that authoritative and Lively sound. Makes more sense ?

Need more time though. I'm often amazed during the first days and a bit less cautious later ;) . New toy effect at work ;)

So I just need a HD6xx cable in a TRRS 3.5mm male termination and I'm good to go, without using the XLR that most balanced headphone cables have? It seems too simple...

Would it be worth hooking up an external amp (like the Mjolnir 2 or Liquid Carbon) to the balanced output of the GOV2 for headphones like the HD650, HD800 or Paradox Slant?

Yea you just need a TRRS terminated cable for your HD6X0 and you're done. I preferred to buy a female 4 pins to TRRS adapter in order I can use several headphones with the same adapter though.

I'm hopeful...but I also wouldn't put money on it. I'm hopeful because V2 Infinity > Leckerton > Modded HD650 is just...incredible for its price and form factor.

Triad Lisa L3, but it's bigger and way more expensive.

If I were shopping for a portable now and I couldn't find a Leckerton, I'd probably look into either the coming Cavalli Portable or hold out for Nick's amp only unit - which last I heard was something that he was working on.

Is this for the regular version or the infinity version?
