Thought I should post this before it gets redacted from headfi

"Sorry guys, I must update my post from earlier this week.. The Geek Verb IEMs ARE still available on Amazon for $25 a pair... The reviews are quite interesting and have the following breakdown (there is some overlap of reviews among the 4 different colors, so there are less total reviews for the Verbs than the sum for the 4 colors): For the Blue version, 9 reviews listed and all 4-5 stars. For the White version, 8 reviews and all are 5 stars. For the Black version, 9 reviews with 8 being 5 stars and 1 is 1 star. For the Red version, 13 reviews with 11 being 4-5 stars, 1 is 2 stars and 1 is 1 star. But after reading the reviews, I really do suspect some TRICKERATION by LH Labs. Look at them for yourself and see what I mean... It appears that LH Labs offered these IEMs somewhere in Asia at a reduced price in exchange for an "honest review"... Don't believe me, just take a look:http://www.amazon.com/review/RY00XVWWV0AWC/ref=cm_cr_dp_title?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00V5K3196&channel=detail-glance&nodeID=172282&store=electronics

    http://www.amazon.com/review/R1ARKTPK03XMNQ/ref=cm_cr_dp_title?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00V5K3196&channel=detail-glance&nodeID=172282&store=electronics

    http://www.amazon.com/review/RBAZ6NN5KN9RY/ref=cm_cr_dp_title?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00V5K613O&channel=detail-glance&nodeID=172282&store=electronics.

I am relieved I didn't buy these IEMs when LH Labs rolled them out, and I really feel bad for those that did buy these thru the "perk" system... I must admit, I did purchase the Geek Verb X-IEMs, but these have still not materialized...Who knows how these will finally turn out. I just hope Larry and the boys don't pull the same horsesh%t with these... I'd hate to think I paid $69 for earphones that will eventually end-up in the Amazon bargain bin...at a reduced price for an "honest review". "

I know people will say Casey is a nice dude, and I appreciated him posting at CS, but the Verb thing couldn't have been handled worse. They got screwed by the company they bought the IEMs from as they were undercut by another company that licensed them, and then the tuning was changed as well. Still, they didn't recall them or anything. Just tried to sell the rest of their supply (which sound awful and have brought a lot of criticism down on them) while they work on getting new ones over a 6-month+ period.
Paid reviews (or discount reviews) are bull. LH should've just pulled them.

I have heard so many things about LH Labs lately and none of them good. Honestly I think they are just trying too many different things. Don't get me wrong I think the products I listened to were good but just got to stay focused on those products. Focus on the products that make you great and perfect the production and resource allocations for all the components. When that side of the business is good then dabble in other areas.

Just seems like they are stepping on their own feet and really getting punished for it.

Their production capabilities are just terrible for whatever reason.

They probably need a production/operations guy at the company who knows what they are doing if they don't have one already.

LOL, those are among my favorite kinds of amazon reviews "the packaging are really quality, and the product doesn't too heavy, I love them"

I agree they need to focus on the stuff they are doing really well; sometimes the LH "diversification" reminds me of mid-2000's fox television line-up.

I still think that whoever decided the 3D printed chassis on the GOV2 was a good idea should be fired. Now I'm just waiting for it to come out that the "inifinity" version of the GOV2 is just a firmware upgrade.

It really does suck because the products they make are excellent. I know they've been trying to expand super duper aggressively, and it seems to be working given that they now have a whole bunch of distribution deals in the works with dealer networks and big box retail. In the meantime. Just a lot of anxious people left holding their breath. They're making progress but holy cow is it all slow. I know they've hired about a bajillion staff so I'm curious what the bottlenecks are.

Just like all those iPhone cases review on Amazon LOL.
I didn't back the Verb because I couldn't think of a thing that would make LHL be a better earbud manufacturer than anybody else in the market, and I applaud for LHL putting up the Verb perk when the hype train is running and people will just back whatever on the IGG page.

BTW LHLabs is crowdfunding GO V2 in China, or their distributor is, don't know how that one will go.

I'm sure the old CS users know how I feel about LH Labs.

They are a perfect case study in how create business goodwill.... and then totally waste it.
Gavin should team up with Jason Stoddard to write a "How to, and How not too start a company" book.

Honestly if they were more open with the community and didn't take long periods of time before saying something it would help mitigate some of the issues. However, I think you really have no business crowd funding if everything isn't secured and ready to go (action plan of some sort).

Is there any update on if they are going to do a new case? I'm going to order a V2 as my UERM DAC/amp solution but am waiting until US Thanksgiving because LH Labs seems like the type of company that will almost certainly have a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale.

Not that I've heard. It would be a big expense to replace all the existing chassis, unless they only did it for new ones, in which case they'd piss off a bunch of customers even more. So actually, they may do that.

I can't believe I'm still waiting on my Geek Wave. And that I got forced to upgrade from 32 to 64. It's feeling a lot like a scam, and the only thing that keeps me holding out for the product is the good folk here (as in, in the CS days) who vouched for the company.

I am a backer of the v2+, and have not received mine yet (or an update since the "we're fixing the case" one, which was very welcome news). That said, I am pretty sure they are already rolling out the new cases for v2+, and have fixed the old ones. I think someone posted pics of the new/reinforced case for v2+ at HF, talking about how the heat issues are much reduced.

This seems to be a revision/refinement because it is a lot 'cleaner' than earlier units but it doesn't incorporate the 'alloy plates' that have been discussed and it still doesn't look very durable for portable use. At least the audio impressions of V2 are overwhelmingly positive so far.
