Casey, are you honestly going to show up to a thread talking about the near-universal disappointment with the Verb and just say "some people liked it?" LH Labs even admitted they had a problem with the supplier.

I am not sure why so many people threw money at the dubious LH Labs Indigogo campaigns. It really boggles my mind.

I beg to differ with your near universal statement. In all honesty, the Verb was a product that we took a huge amount of flak for in the audiophile community. Yes, it had its issues and yes there were complications that I can't provide details on. However, that being said, when we released this product to the general public as a bass heavy earbud it happened to be very well received.

Reading through this thread, I see that someone has brought up the reviews of the Verb found on Amazon. I can point blank tell you those are reviews from actual purchasers of the Verb. We ended up selling a massive quantity and they've been resold through a variety of other dealers and distributors. The way Amazon works is that each product is assigned its own unique ASIN and is forever tied back to that said ASIN, no matter if the product is bought from LH Labs or from another vendor. Amazon tracks where reviews come from and has a rather intuitive algorithm for deciphering which review is real and which is fake. Even if someone wanted to fake a review, positive or negative, it's incredibly difficult for that happen.

While I understand that the audiophile community was less than pleased the Verb, I also take into account that the general population seems to be receiving them rather well and has provided feedback as such.

I too have read the negative review that was posted about the Verb and actually reached out to directly speak with the author(s) to which we received absolutely no interest. The structuring of the article itself leads me to believe that the creators of it had something else in mind when posting in lieu of providing simple feedback on the product itself.

Any chances a set of pimped awesomesauce alternative aluminum cases may become available for the GO V2 Casey? I might buy them :)

Using the GO V2 and sound quality wise I like it a lot.

I would gladly accept an aluminum chassis for my GOV2. Anything that doesn't feel like it needs to be handled gingerly would be great.

At no time did I state that the sites listed were audiophile sites.

Also, the SoundGuys review actually had the reviewer score at 8.8.....scroll down to the bottom and you can see that the overall score from users was a 7.3

Hang on a sec ... also?

Your post gives the impression that those first two are sham sites or something, which is clearly not the case. The first one is by some guy who is legitimately into music and is filled with other content but has only reviewed, as audio products, the verb and GOv2; the second is by a nerd/engineer who likes writing about stuff and has reviewed PLENTY of things he likes (including phones, laptops, and his tacoma) but has only reviewed, as audio products, some other earbuds and the verb; the third is a legit gear site. I am not willing to believe that either of the first two guys were somehow paid to review the items they say they like. I think they bought them and like them. It could be based on years of contemplation or simple cognitive dissonance, we don't really know. I am not defending the verb, and its fine to pronounce "I dislike that thing! greatly!" but let's not let our conspiracy theories run wild.

I also completely understand the frustration that backers and perk buyers have with LH's funding/purchase methods across several products. Casey's point is not that the verb is audiophile gold or that there have been no issues with LH over the last few years, his point is some people might (and do) actually like the verb. If people with bad ears / different tastes like, and will pay for, the verb, then let them do it. His other point is that those purchases and reviews are real. I am sure they are. My earlier point, which I stand by in the case of most of the amazon reviews, is that the reviews are tangential to understanding the product and not very helpful (this is not a new phenomenon at amazon, by the way). Either way, I don't think it helps much of anything to suggest a conspiracy behind the sale of some not-beloved iems.

Agreed no need to grab the pitchforks over a $25 IEM (even a sub $100 IEM). I mean think about who is buying this IEM? Probably not an owner of say a UIEM by Noble or JH. I admit to having a Monoprice 8320 but I use that for work ($8.02).

Honestly I kind of feel bad for LH Labs as they do make good products but their production/operations plague just seems to be real which sucks for everyone. One thing I will say and that is this the Vi DAC is a great sounding DAC (heard it at RMAF paired with the HE-1000).

Or any V2 for that matter, it wasn't clear from the product update whether the reworked cases would be aluminum or just a pair of invisible aluminum plates would be added to the inside and preserving the ugly case.

It was not advertised originally as a $25 IEM.
