Will write in details later. Been swapping pads and listening to the difference, and need more time.

Compared to the Jupiter mod, the first thing I noticed is that my 6xx-k sounded bright, forward (sitting very close to stage), and the soundstage collapsed in depth and z-axis. Swapped the pads and foam, and things became much closer.
I also removed the grills, so I can compare the mods more directly.

How are the JAR pads looking? They were fairly new when I sent the loaner out. Are they starting to compress from use?

Clamp is another aspect to consider. If anyone has modified their HD650 headband for less clamp (common mod), the JAR I believe will not have that.

More clamp = drivers closer to ears = more bass, less treble, etc.

The JAR pads are plenty new, just that my 6xx pads are getting old.
Clamp never bothered me, but it's too late to train the headband now that the pads are squished.
