If possible I would like to give them a run as well. If I can't join this one then that's ok. Jacksonville, FL.

Received today from Kunlun. Nasty treble pre-mod; resonant and harsh. But the cotton mod tames it very nicely. Bass sounds a little too damped with the cotton to me, so I’ll play with some dried alcohol swabs in the other filters. Significant improvement with the cotton though over stock tuning.

Alcohol swabs are better than the cotton .

Agreed, I've tried a few additional methods/materials and so far the most satisfying results are from the rolled alcohol pad method that leaves an open gap as @james444 recommends here.

Ok, finally found the right kind of alcohol swabs and I’ve got the loaner set of filters updated as best as I can with reading glasses and rudimentary tools. (Sorry, no calipers!)

    Red nozzles: Purr1n’s cotton mod
    White nozzles: 15mm x 6mm alcohol swabs
    Blue nozzles: 13mm x 6mm alcohol swabs

FD01 will be shipping to @Vansen tomorrow. I really appreciate the SBAF loaner program! I’ll be buying a set as soon as it pleases the crown.

With the cotton mod, I thought they were ok but I could hear enough improvement over stock, that I wanted to source the correct 2-ply alcohol swabs. @james444 mods take it to another level.

    - in a quiet environment, like at home, the modded set still sounds more fun than neutral; think U shaped.
    - on the go, in noisier environs, they take on a more neutral, if a bit analytical sig. Don’t get me wrong, the treble is well tamed with the mod, but the noisier environs make it leaner sounding, yet still very enjoyable.
    - bass doesn’t quite compete with the venerable Sony EX1000 from my memories but is still dynamic driver goodness.
    - the modded timbre is pretty fantastic with my guitar rock based library.
-kicks ass straight from an iPhone with Apple dongle. This is pretty much all you need and I greatly appreciate the simplicity of this combination.

Gave these a good listen last night and today. I think my favorite pairing is with the M0. Lively and detailed without feeling tilted up. I prefer the blue cylinders with the smaller alcohol swab, they felt the most balanced. Balanced is probably the best way to describe these, just a really competent set of transducers. They definitely have that DD magic. I can hear where they best the Blitzwolf, but the price delta is so enormous between the two that I can live with the Blitzwolf (and really the basshead in me kind of prefers them).

I'm really glad I got to hear these. If a used pair ever pops up here for a good price I may have to snag them.

Oh and yes these sound great with a balanced cable into the GOV2+. That's the one area where the Blitzwolf really falls short, no replaceable cable.
