You can't go wrong with the price. And if there are tonality "synergy" issues, you can just tweak your crossover. That's the beauty of DIY. No need to mix-and-match expensive gear to get the system to work holistically.

Just got the amp. First impression, WTF why is the box so big? Second impression, I really like the aesthetic. I appreciate the solid build quality and really great finish on each surface. Considering the fact that it is a cost optimized design, it still looks handsome. Pride of ownership is important to me, and I'm a snob when it comes to fancy looking gear. I would be delighted to look at this amp every day.

Third impression, I do not like the the way the button feels on the front. I don't have any reason for that. But, the first time I clicked it I said "ew." As long as it's reliable and works every time I go to press it, there is no reason why I should dislike this button. I had a plunger style button go to Hell on my Audio-GD Master 10, so if the Schiit buttons are more reliable then my fixation for this button will end right here.

    More to come.

    Aegir here safe & sound.

Road trip yesterday to borrow an OG freya to help test, don't know about that thing... a bit much (used it as a pre into my existing classD last night to get a feel for it) it's almost glomming on redundant spaciousness, blunting transients, and seems slow (in my situation)-- I'll figure it out, have lots of options to play with. (Think I like the Jensen 1:1 ya2/se conversion much better)

Really enjoying the Aegir, it's fun to listen to and beautiful sounding. Deep stage with lots of structure way in the back, it's really cool. Settled on Freya buffer and Jensens for the Yggdrasil... tubes a bit far out for me and noise floor is high lol! Will do passive and try my gain-cell Pre also. (Wish I had a FreyaS that's for sure)

    Oh yeah... bass is amazing

Order updated. @Mystic let me know that he'll be out of town, so Texas gentlemen got moved up one slot. @Vtory will be next followed by @famish99 if that's okay with everyone. Shipping will be a little bit back and forward but I don't think it should affect things too much.

Loaner Aegir (#1) received. Hooked it up with SR1a. A little confused as it sounds different than I imagined (thought it be super, steroid-injected JLH)

    Will listen more.

SR1a requires much more power than what a single Aegir can provide.

Haha, I wanted to test what would happen to raal when driven by low power, as I've used mostly less than 1W (roughly 91dB spl) even at peaks. Planning to compare three different amps at different power levels during my evaluation.
