You should be able to solve the light tube with strategically placed adhesives, there may be residual traces inside the case for clues.

 

Oh wow. That totally looks like the right battery. Huh. I dunno. Jesus, to think it costs $6.

 

Should be electronics to prevent overheating while charging.

Be sure to check for electrical, not just size, matching for replacements. Including charging characteristics for LiPos.
