Great, now my interest is piqued again to get a Lynx and compare it to the Digigram.

Yep, the price of that thing is due to all the licensing.

Keep us posted please. I thought E22 wasn't linux compliant.

    No it won't.

The only way to have it work on a windows laptop is by Getting the Thunder 3 version and a laptop with Thunderbolt 3 connector (USC type C cable). But then Mac users will be out of luck.

Dante rate switching was supposed to be released this summer. Didn't check back.

I don't think there is a dante version for Linux so rednet might be a dead end there too.

If Luckbad wanders in he compared them and ended up keeping the Lynx for the convenience factor even though he thought the rednet sounded better. I think he posted about it here somewhere or other.

Thunderbolt should have a TB3 -> TB2 adapter out there. Plus, there must be a few Windows TB2 laptops out there. It is an Intel standard, though it seems only Apple is using it.

I think the newest version of JRiver (22) has an associated app that can turn your phone into a remote for the player. I haven't tried it yet.

I believe the correct spelling is bukakied, but I get the idea. Damn, if this is true, goodbye to endless hours looking for slight stupid neurotic changes. Wait, SPDIF cables have a sound. F*CK.

been doing that for a year now, it worked with JRiver 21 also.
allows one to (losslessly) stream from home Mac/PC via my remote iPhone.

With the lowered euro currency, the Seraph D4 seems to be a great deal vs the vx220e or lynx.

Lynx E22 setup is about the same on PC.

I find it to be nearly as good as Rednet but way more convenient and 100% reliable.

    @Marvey

Why the AES16E instead of E22? I haven't heard the former but research said the E22 should sound better.

I only compared it against Rednet when it was switched to S/PDIF format.

Changing it to AES improved things further with the Sonic Frontiers (lower jitter?).

Actually, I was about to ask the opposite question: why are some people using E22 instead of AES16e? While I cannot say which would sound better, as far as I know the AES16e is a purely a digital only PCI express card, whereas the E22 does that too but also comes with A/D and D/A converter features. Aren't we using these Lynx PCI cards in order to take high quality digital audio signal out of the computer via AES without using USB at all? We don't need the A/D and D/A features, do we? So intuitively thinking, wouldn't using the AES16e make more sense?

For example, if you were looking for a high-end DAC to replace your current one, would you rather look for a dedicated DAC or a DAC/headphone amp/preamp/speaker amp/tuner in one box, assuming they are the same price?

If there is an actual sonic benefit from using E22 compared to AES16e and someone could explain that, sure I would understand. But if there's something I'm missing here in regard to the difference between E22 and AES16e, please enlighten us.
