Hello there. I am a new member here and had been in head-fi for a while. Recently from mass drop thx00 I found out that some one else had been measuring the Z7. As an owner of Z7 myself and who had been modding it. I am glad to see the graph measured exactly to what I heard and what I did to improve the Z7

1/ bloated sub-bass, some lower-mid bass distortion. Eliminated by upgrading the inner driver wires cables. It also improves the bass resolutions
2/ resonances on the higher frequency. Improved by adding acoustic dampening materials. It also reveals better nuances extensions
3/ upgraded cables for the best result, pure solid silver cables.

I will try and add pictures later as it needs link to add pictures here.

    Thank you for looking

You know why they made the bloat-sub-bassed cans instead of R10-like headphones? Before Sony design Z7, they made a big survey on the streets ("hi, young boy, what kind of music you listen?"). And the result was (is) the young people like the Beats kind of bass...

I agreed...lol, but Sony could have done better with this bass also....and they forgot that most of those beats fans boy won't be able to afford 700$ pair of headphones.....unless audiophiles, and to audiophiles...the z7 is with more than a couple flaws. I think z7 will quickly fade behind it competitions

I've still never heard the Z7 but I've always wanted to.
