    Hi all,

Does anyone remember how well the Gen 1 Mjolnir worked as a balanced preamp for a stereo system? (I have read numerous times that the gen2 was pretty bad)

Does anyone have the gain figure on hand?

I'm trying to figure out a cost effective way to link my Gungnir Multibit to my Pass X150 power amp and keep things balanced. The Mjolnir could also serve as a SS amp for my LCD2. I suppose if the Mjolnir stinks as a pre, the Freya would be a logical choice, but I don't need all of those features.

    Thanks!

Also, I would be interested in hearing about a comparison between the Mjolnir 1 pre vs the jfet buffer of the Freya. I am not interested in running tubes.

If the Mjolnir 1 has a preamp gain of 20dB or something, then it will also not be a consideration... I need something more like a buffer with volume control.
