Golden Globes misses again?

 

I've only seen two of the five noms for GG's Best Picture, but I'd take The Irishman without a second thought. 1917 gets a definite thumbs up from me but it's not That big of a deal, (or that big of a movie).

The movie is in limited release here in LA and I, a somewhat recent transplant, decided to make the drive in to Beverly Hills to catch a 9:30 AM showing. Google Maps had me snaking my way from the Valley through Brentwood on a route that included my being on Mulhullond in the daylight for the first time , then down through gorgeous canyon roads I'd not driven before, past mega homes in mid seventies January weather. Beautiful landscape, roads and homes, views of snow capped mountains in one direction and the Pacific in the other.

It's a very decent movie, but I'll remember the drive more than the film.

 

@BillOhio Welcome to California scenery. There’s lots more to come. Come up to Lake Tahoe sometime. Make sure you come in to the Tahoe basin on U.S. 50.

 

Definitely on the list.
