That time Jimmy Page played banjo:

Another banjo-fuelled 70's quirky masterpiece. I knew this initially as the theme to the early 80's TV adaption of Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy:

Edit: Come to think of it, it was someone on SBAF who initially surprised me when posting this song. I always thought it had been written specifically for the show.

Gerry Rafferty was brilliant. He knew his sound and how to tell a good story. What a legend.

Courtesy of Mr Wilford (Sean Bean) in S2E1 of Snowpiercer. Not sure how well a turntable would fare on a train, though.

The band is stopping this year. Damn this song will be always epic. It still sounds fresh...

The 70s - so much good music, live and on vinyl. Some weekends you had to choose what gig to go and which to miss. Also how the hell did I not go to see King Crimson - ITCOTCK at the Dome, Brighton 71. Isle of Wight festival, felt bloody minded so didn't go and I lived just 30 miles away.

If there's one LP that takes me right back to the 70s' it's Joni's - Herija. The whole feeling of the 70s is right there in that album. I play that and the summer wind is blowing through my long hair, hanging loose and smoking great energetic Rocky. Life was easy, dancing the night away to great disco music, then I look in the mirror and see an old man looking back at me but the eyes are still the same, full of energy and I can still dance, when I can't it's time to say good night and good bye.

Not sure how I missed these guys in the '70s. Great chillin' music.
