looks like a natural gas (fake) fireplace which if defective could cause a lot of CO2 emissions and render OJ Neg less than Arabian on earth, and a loss for us all.

It's the Monoxide emissions that kill, isn't it? In three decades in London, I've lived with faulty gas fires and leaky coal-fire chimneys. I'm still alive. But there are many who were not so lucky. Yes, these things are a very valid concern.

They were completed right as I arrived. They sounded absolutely awful and compressed out of the box, but really opened up after some run-in today. They sound really smooth and image well, and do a fine job of articulating transients. Tone is a shade warmer than neutral, and the bass response is adequate, though it is clear it does not extend fully. I'm excited to see how these turn out with a bit more time and some more damping for the cabinets, considering I'm already hearing good things as is.

    Listening space

Room is 28ft long, with slight taper (9ft to 14ft) front to back. Ceiling is rather short (7ft). Overall very cozy as a listening space with good sonics to boot. Improvements to the space will be made I'm sure.

Oh yeah, and free Craigslist couch FTW. Had to clean out the stench of cat piss, but totally worth it.

@OJneg, you have a couch in your studio man cave?! You are a total hoarder. My studio man cave in San Diego back when barely had an inflatable bed.

    Those speakers look awesome!

    How did you do that?

Cats have been evolving for thousands of years to make their spray scent absolutely unremovable.

did you choose the fusion 8 for high sensitivity so you could use the EHHA? or is your ehha souped up with more power? I saw you had dual transformers. I like the red baffle a lot

@Thad E Ginathom - vinegar. Cat owner here including one that pisses everywhere, vinegar is the one thing that really works. Sometimes I use baking soda too

Who remembers The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers?

Particularly pertinent to this forum is the strip in which Fat Freddy expresses relief, as he dresses in the morning, that the cat has not shat in his boots. The cat, meanwhile, looks on, thinking... Wait until you put on the headphones!

edit... This was the punchline' I've never been able to get the whole strip out of google.

I chose Fusion8 because I heard great sounding (albeit very different) 2-way monitors using horn/waveguides and matching pro-audio woofers. The high sensitivity has a lot to do with the sonic package.

The EHHA is souped with with heavier bias and dual mono PSU's. By the numbers, it should be able to swing 40Wrms into 8ohm.

And yes, I was pleasantly surprised by how the red baffle came out. Still deciding whether to do the rest of the cabinet body straight black or a dark varnish.
