@Lou Casadonte have you heard more from Blink about a start time? Also anything non personal gear that they might need? Food or beer (for everyone except @spwath )?

Ok we have a start time on saturday of 1:30pm - will that work for everyone? Is there anyone in the list that i posted that won't make it? We will be in their new studio: studio B, Suite 412 (4th floor, top floor of our building KBL), Address: 129 Franklin St, Cambridge, MA 02139.

    Phone: +1-617-225-0700

I will find out about parking and logistics and post back. Looking forward to seeing everyone! PS I have to ask about food and beverage. What do folks think and/or want?

I may not be able to go. I probably can, but maybe not. Taking car in tomorrow, probably just needs new battery. Hopefully...

I'm good to go, and somewhat stupid. I just had to tighten the connection on the battery terminal, now my car works.

I would be down for this meetup if it’s not too late to join. And if it is, that’s truly okay too.

I should also point out that I don’t have especially interesting gear for folks to try, although I’d be glad to bring it: stock HD650, Vali 2, Bifrost Multibit, Gungnir Multibit, and an AKG Q701 absolutely nobody is particularly burning to hear. Two DACs, two headphones, and only one amp, but them’s the breaks...

The only semi-uncommon thing I own is a Tavish Designs Vintage phono stage with the Tung Sol tube upgrade, but in terms of logistics, it’s probably a terrible idea to involve turntables, in spite of my recent fascination with analog sound. Let me know if anybody has a strong opinion on this, one way or another.

I think stop by either way, bring whatever gear you feel like, more the better. Would love to talk turntables and all things analog.

Actually, that'd be really convenient...I think I might be stuck bringing an amp but no DAC. My main setup is Bifrost Multibit > Taboo MkIII, but my Bifrost Multibit is an older model that's been upgraded and doesn't have USB, so I couldn't figure out if I'd be able to bring the Taboo with no way of getting a signal to my Bifrost Multibit from my laptop. If you're bringing an extra DAC, I might not have to drive my Taboo from a Pono (which really doesn't sound as good). And I'd actually be interested in hearing the Vali 2...it's a common enough recommendation that I might eventually get one for a work or bedside setup.

In the way of headphones, I was thinking of bringing my SDR-modded HD800, my HE-500, and a pair of modded YH-1 orthos that people might find interesting.

Incidentally, is it OK to bring SO's to this shindig? My girlfriend doesn't hang out on audio forums, but I've turned her onto good headphones, and she seems interested in coming.

I was wondering if anyone knows if Providence, RI has any shops with a decent headphone selection? I'll be visiting from Switzerland shortly.
    Thanks!

I think boston is where you want to go. Blink has a nice selection and I'm looking forward to trying the pioneers. If you let us know what you are interested in we may be able to make some recommendations.

Looks like @spwath wasn’t the only one destined to have car battery problems right before the meet. My less than two year old battery decided that it wanted to enter “I’m not even going to hold 11v after you put me under a starter motor load mode” in a parking lot at Starbucks during lunch today. Hurray for parking lot battery change outs. I’m thankful that I had a tool bag in my trunk today.

...this isn’t the first time I’ve changed out my car battery in a Starbucks parking lot. :/

Nov 18th Meet in Westborough MA at Double Tree Hotel. Looks like we have a real spot this time.

Schiit is sending gear, and even doing a give away for a Lyr3 + DAC.

Looks like Audeze might have tried to be reached? Maybe can hit up a few other guys, maybe certain people from the northeast who are releasing new headphones and previewing them at CanJam and have the first name Zach.

Will be a good time. New England Represent

I might be able to go to that, only about 1.5 hours away.
Would be cool to try some Schiit.
Could do some comparison with my old Theta DSPro Progeny.

EDIT: Posted in headfi thread. Just waiting for moderator approval for my post because I am on the headfi watch list...
