I am glad that I resisted the birthday sale after this feedback. I could never fully see the retune changing the zebra's stripes.

I never expected the retune to change the original intended sound signature. Just improve upon it. I'd say Noble was successful in refining the N4, but still keeping the exact same characteristics.

Taming the 6k peak was such an important improvement to me that it was worth it, but it is what it is. It's definately not for everybody

I should have clarified that my stone ears would have felt disappointed by the perceived lack of improvement. I am not adept at subtlety with regard to audio perceptions; I need to be hit by the sonic hammer.

The neat thing is that the heir8 and K10 have almost the exact same bass, but they sound different because the treble on the K10 is different and, I would say, better.

Yes, bass is very similar. That damn nozzle on the K10 is so thick. Giving me some fit issues. Using triple flange tips right now. Seem to worm best for me.

Treble is by far the biggest difference from what I remember.

I always use spiral dot mediums with any universal IEM, and have great luck with them.

I thought the nozzles were a tad short on the classic nobles. I have heard that they extended them on the aluminum version. I also had zero success with any of the stock tips.

Got mine yesterday and the fit is pretty good with the stock ones with the red inner part. I ordered pair of spin fits as well to see if it might be improve a bit.

Note that Spiral Dots are also available in ML and MS sizes. I find the ML fits best, so I ordered them on ebay.

I rolled pretty much every tip with my ABS Noble universals and ended up with Spiral Dots. Not only do they provide the best fit, but also the best sound. They can be expensive but once you have your size you are done. I have some spare tips and can make a couple of M/ML/L sample packs if anyone is interested (I settled on M).

Was wondering if anyone got the cp100 spinfits to fit the k10 just got mine but having very hard time installing them even though there website says these should fit noble iems

Edit nvm finally got them to fit after struggling for nearly 30 min happy to report the mediums are definitely a good choice over the stock ones with the inner red tubed tips. I'm glad I got them even though the fit of the stock mediums fit me quite well.

After a few days of comparing the K10U to the Andromeda and (modded) Series 5, I've found that you are right.

The K10U warmth and mid-bass adds a bit more 'fun', but the clarity, soundstage, and treble sparkle of the andromedas wins out for me so far.
Things like snare drums and hi-hats just sound so much more realistic with the Andros - especially at higher volumes.
The andros also just have a lot more '3d-ness' than the k10us.

I think if I primarily listened to electronic music, I would prefer the K10 more.
But since I listen to mostly rock/indie/hardcore/metal, I am currently preferring the andromedas.

Regarding all the series 5 hype, I think there is a bit of validity to it.
I find them more similar to the k10u than the andros, thanks to the mid-bass bump.
Given they have dynamic drivers, they do frustratingly have slightly better bass detail than either the k10u or andros.
But I've found they lack the treble detail, soundstage, and layering that the k10u and andros have.

Spent some time enjoying the k10s. They are good. I'm not overwhelmed, but they are good. Not my favorite. Still need more time.

I think for those people that prefer the Andro's, the Noble Katana would be a closer comparison. But that doesn't help much if you already own the K10's. Plus that's a pretty big price difference between the Andro and Katana.

It would be interesting to demo the katanas. But since I bought my andros used for about $1k less than the katanas, they would have to provide a huge jump to justify the leap.

I assumed you weren't serious and ordered a Dulce Bass... My mistake...
