Yep, we're still getting our legs under us with this one. It looked like Vali 2 was going to slip into next year, but suddenly last Monday we had boatloads of chassis. (We'd had boards for some time, but chassis were the sticking point, due--as usual--to a vendor making a bad run of chassis.) So, if Nick doesn't know all the details yet, it's only because he hasn't played with a Vali 2 very much. No worries, we've been running prototypes since summer, so if you have any questions, ask me.

I don't disagree with you, BTW. I'd buy one. And I'd buy a warmer companion to go with it too. ;)

In @purrin 's post #30 there is a picture and I was wondering what type of headphones those are on the bottom right of the picture (see my attached pic)

Thank you - are they any good? Are there any reviews or posts on these? Sorry I am getting off topic here, I'll post in a different thread.

I might consider getting this to use for my other headphones. And with the size, I could just put it on top of my Gungnir Multibit/Mjolny2 stack. :)

What would you do with it that you couldn't do with mjolnir2?

(Not trying to be combative, I'm looking for a reason to buy it :D Ok I need to stop being such a fanboy. But I've got a single lonely Valvo CCa that's just begging to go in this thing...)

On a more serious note - for those that have heard both vali and vali2, does vali2 have less grain?

I would use the vali2 more as a main amp for audio use. The Mjolnir2 I use for some dedicated music listening. Still thinking about what I'll do though.

I'm curious, what's the difference between audio use and dedicated music listening for you?

When i'm checking streams, youtube, watching movies for example. Also, I don't want to have the Mjolnir on all the time. It get's quite hot and increases my room temperature 2 much, especially in summertime, so there's that. So, I was thinking of adding a small amp I can leave on most of the time.

Hmm.. that actually makes sense. The vali 2 isn't going to run cool, but it'll probably be cooler than the mj2 at least. Speakers aren't an option?

The house I live in has thin walls, so I rather not use speakers.

Awesome, yeah, the Dewar's is a nice acquisition. I don't think that needs to warm up, or for that matter wait until tonight. Just start in right away.

Dewar's is to warm me up while the amp does. It's after noon here, so I guess it is ok to get started...
