So I have been buying new products as money allows. For shits and giggles, I bought a “low-end” schiit stack consisting of a Magni 3, Modi Multibit, Loki, and Wyrd. I listened tonight through the TX-X00, and to be honest, I am not sure I’ve experienced music so well in a long time. For instance, I listened to Fiona Apple’s “Parting Gift”, a song which usually kills my ears at the chorus, and it was not at all painful this time. I feel like I am in some way imparting bias or some other from of preference to this, but I can’t help but feeling that I am incorrect.

I am no stranger to the upper end of this hobby, but this makes me wonder if I am at the limits of my own hearing and experience. Am I hearing less critically than I believe I am? It felt before this like the album was a mess. But now it feels like it wasn’t. There are flaws, no doubt, but as far as the “groove”, for lack of a better word, goes, I found myself satiated. On at $350 stack.

Has anyone else felt like this? This is not a shitpost, I swear.

No more piercing treble and more sub bass are the most noticeable things I hear from Modi Multibit+eitr. Every songs I heard including sound of Minis in pre-patch pubg are more pleasure sounding, they are my first 100usd+ dac tho.

There are tons of topic talking about measurements. / schiit shills / topping shills / dacs are all the same/ which I dont care anymore. People gotta hear more gears with variety of music genre first before making those bold assumption.

To my ears, yes. I prefer the Schiit stack to the Deckard.

Have you tried using the Deckard (DAC) -> Magni 3 or Modi Multibit -> Deckard (Amp)? It was very enlightening for me to do this kind of testing to isolate the effects of specific gear swaps. My guess is the Magni 3 is the more significant change here (it was for me)...but there's no need to guess. :)

P.S. Glad to hear you are enjoying my Modi Multibit!

I have tried Modi Multibit > Deckard mostly out of curiosity, but I didn't really give it enough time to see what differences I heard. When the Magni3/Loki came in I went straight to that stack. I definitely am enjoying it though!
