New York SBAF Pyrate Cove

I believe it's the first official NYC CanJam, so I would think the release schedule isn't going to have much new stuff coming out this time, especially as CES will have been just a few weeks before. I know that there is some stuff being worked on by some vendors, but don't know of anything being announced at CanJam.

Some of the stuff from CES might be the MQA stuff, etc. but don't know of anything that will be a big splash at CanJam in terms of being really "new".

Not really much stuff that interests me really.....but would be good to just hear everything to confirm and strengten my palette. You guys going opening time on saturday or when? trying to schedule things around so i can actually get to meet some of you!

 

I'm debating on going but was wondering if it's just going to be a clusterfuck of people and random noise. Can anyone comment on the listening conditions from previous big conventions? I've been to small intimate local head-fi meets and even those were sometimes iffy in terms of being able to critically listen and make a decent judgement on gear (and whether or not it could be worth buying in the future ... which would be my main goal on going).

I assume Sunday is probably less crowded than Saturday? And if I skip lunch ... I'm guessing that might be the optimal time to listen (assuming the vendors are still around), especially on Sat?

 

There's nothing much that I'm interested in trying there aside from a few portable stuff. I'm mainly going to meet up with you guys and to organize the dinner afterwards. So most likely I'll get there later on during the day.

Thinking of going to canjam this year, how many people are going to be at this dinner?

I will be at Canjam both Days.Looking forward to getting my A16 PIRR measurements as I bought one on the Kickstarter Deal.
I also will be talking to vendors about attending the June 10th Head-fi meet in Babylon. All Sbaf members are welcome to attend.

Could people coming Saturday please listen to the 64 Ears TIA and Fourté, and the AK T8ie, mkII?

I'd like to read your take on them, much appreciated.

Also, should I be buying a ticket in advance for this if I'm coming on Sunday?

 

It looks like it is $5 cheaper if you order in advance rather than at the door.

 

Lets meet at the Campfire Audio booth around 3pm to hand out the first Golden Schlong award and then we can head to Schiit's booth to hand out the next.

We can meet up at the hotel lobby to head out for dinner around 6pm. I'm not familiar with the layout of the hotel, so I'll probably post a more accurate location on the day of the event. Most of you guys have my phone # anyways.

Does anybody who is going to CanJam tomorrow need some Dynamat. @bozebuttons had give me some but then I bought pre-modded HD 650 and don't need it. I can pass it along if anyone wants it. If not, I will just put it up on the For Sale board as a freebie to the first taker.
