I would update the expiration date of the card in your account details, you should be fine when they actually process the charge.

Nope. I received a paypal charge authorization email at 6:05am PST but noticed nothing had shown up from Massdrop. I tried a couple more times after that but the page kept failing. Finally saw the Massdrop confirmation email at around 3:30pm PST and checked my massdrop transactions right after.

I already ordered goodies to make a few cables too. If you make them yourself cables can be really cheap.

I have scoured MD but see no way to update the card. I think that you can only do the update during a purchase. Please someone correct me if there is another way.

You may get another chance if charge fails. Just send in a ticket as well, once the place stops burning down you'll surely get a response.

Hm you're right, I must have remembered something incorrectly. Looks like your only option is to contact support.

In the end, I could be in (probably around 1000th order). But it was very unpleasing experience. I am still not sure whether spending 1.x hour was a smart decision.

    $199 + My hourly wage for 1.x hours + Mental stress = ???

I think those who completely IGNORED this deal were really wise people.

My experience exactly, at one point I was asking myself the same question, "Do I really need to experience and own the HD650 again". Then it was really more about the quest and riding the hype train. Not really something I needed at 6am on election day.

Well I was there when it first opened, I attempted to purchase the HD6xx when there were less than 50 people who had bought them...tried paypal, credit card all multiple times without success.

I do however, see a charge from what I assume is from MD on my Aussie credit card which was made around the time I attempted to purchase on my phone and computers opening multiple tabs.

I am very disappointed they had nothing setup to manage the server load. Other times I have encountered this situation, the servers didn't just crash, everyone was redirected to a loading/processing screen, informing everyone that things would be processed on a first-come-first serve basis and to wait for the results.

FWIW I've actually never head the HD650s before, and I thought this would be a good way to try them, as i'm looking to upgrade my rig. I have only participated in one massdrop previously, but this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. I hope they find a way to ensure a satisfactory outcome. They really need to own up to this with action and not just words and apologies.

They say that if you attempted to process an order and then got the Oops screen then you should be in once "the engineers" finish getting everything sorted out. They say that their database will have time stamps for all of these people. So don't give up yet if that is your situation.

AlexPeterkin said that @Will has already been talking to Sennheiser today about doing another drop.

Doing another drop isn't a satisfactory response. What they need to be doing, is trying to contact the people who had payments failing due to their mistake, and letting them purchase the HD6XX before starting another drop.

I would be very surprised if this was the ONLY time Massdrop offers the HD6XX. How often has the Grace m9XX shown up when it was originally a limited drop of 500 units? Now it is considered a "Best of". Or the K7XX? The TH-X00?

I was on the fence as to whether or not I actually got in on this drop. I finally heard back from MD last night and I'm in. That's great but I'm still sorely disappointed at how MD handled and executed this one. Come on guys, you can do better than this.

Like I said before they claim to be doing that.

Nice to seem them committed to taking the most logical approach to the leftovers from duplicate orders.

Is this the first time Massdrop had a system overload like this?

I know the HD6XX was a particularly popular drop but their business model seems to be set up to where this type of situation could happen fairly often.
