Studio B can develop approx. 1.8 W at 47R. Given Abyss sensitivity of 88dB/mW at 47R, 1.8W will produce 120 dBSPL. That's pretty loud (too loud really.)

Someone on headfi swore up and down that it drove his Susvara better than ever-but when and only when he used WE 300Bs, vs others. Pretty sure it was in the 300b thread over there. Fwiw, my Ethers 2s are absolutely driven easily using my EMLs or WEs. Ymmv etc

That’s great, what a wonderful amp! Im not planning an Abyss purchase anytime soon, but maybe down the road sometime. Currently I’m listening on the OG Utopias and am thoroughly pleased with the sound.

Just got the power supply back, it was changed to a Mercury 83 tube by Craigs tech. I have new speakers so I cannot tell if its better or if theres any change at all. It sounds great but I do not have a reference now to report on. Oh well im enjoying wonderful sound.

Technically, it's not. I have the parts list. Need to buy parts, send to Craig's builder. And then hope it doesn't get lost in the mail.

hm, that guy (or someone) needs to send me a Studio B so i can listen with Susvara. ;)
I'm a bit skeptical that "only with WE 300B" was the key factor and other tubes were "bad".

in the HF Studio B thread, another post said the Studio B was better than Ferrum stack (Oor + Hypsos) with Susvara.
anyone here plugged Susvara into Studio B? ... oh god the lure of tubes.

Isn't there a difference though between being driven to loud enough volume and being driven in a way that unleashes the potential of the headphone and synergies with it? I've heard tons of amps that can drive my modded Audeze's to way beyond ear bleeding levels but sound like shit with them.

Susvara into my Moth 2a3 with KR 2a3 tubes was my favorite pairing with about 6 amps I tried. But Caldera was too warm with it.

I had the Susvara on my head when I took this shot. NAN-Z NAN-7 is hanging on the rack:

Synergy is quite important. But I was addressing the query if Studio B had sufficient power to drive headphones VERY LOUD.
