I am new to tube amp world, only recently I learned from a friend how good Eddie Current could sound. After following and going through this thread for several days, I decided to reach out to Craig and pull the purchase trigger. But unfortunately I was told he already sold the last one, sad...

Thanks! will check it out. But I guess the shipping of such heavy pieces probably would make it less favorable.

 

You might want to ask the seller if the voltage is 230 since the listing is in German. This may or may not work for you.

Does Balancing Act or Studio B get more current output if switched to the 300B tubes?

 

studio b is made for 300b tubes

 

I think there is an 2A3 version right?

 

ECSB has more power and can deliver more current than ECBA, ECSB can drive speakers

Tbh I've been hearing "Craig is done" for ages now but then see people buying his amps, just wondering if there's official confirmation somewhere.

 

Same here. I haven’t seen official confirmation anywhere.

 

When I bought mine in late December 2022 he told me it was one of the last 5 he will make. Not sure where he has been since or if anything changed.

 

One of his sort of benign infamies I guess for a lack of a better term is never updating the website, so I wouldn't be surprised if it just stays static and we don't get an official word. Maybe if Marv spams his inbox for us he'll respond.

 

Or you could perhaps just send a polite inquiry email to Judi and Craig through the website?

Whoa! Good catch.

 

That is quite different from what I measured. You imply 9.2V output, I guess with 1.5V. I got just 5V into 300 Ohm dummy load, also 1.5V input, 20 hz. I have Studio Jr, but it's the same as Studio B AFAIK.

Can you confirm please?
